Ridge Racer 7 scored 36/40 .... 9,9,9 & 9 from IGN! That's one amazing score for a launch title.

I'm really getting sick of this stupid drifting/urban racing fad. Its taking good development money from realy racing sims.
Gran Tourismo 4 was a huge let down, but the last really good racing game was Forza.
PS - I want the old Need for Speed back! Exotics racing around hills, and long sweeping turns, stupid NFS Underground series.

Besides, I'll take a Wii over a PS3 anyday, and I'm sure most people would agree with that.
I'd disagree with that. I don't see anything special about the Wii. The games are supposed to be more quirky and different, yet their launch lineup is not that impressive. I think most people will be merely settling for a Wii since they won't be able to get their hands on a PS3.
Personally I've debated lining up to get one and resell it (currently they go for about $1700 CAD on eBay). The 360 is just not that impressive. Its been out for over a year, and what's on it right now...about a half-dozen decent games...and Gears of War.
PS3 will be the system to have. Most people complaining about it are merely complaining because they don't have the money to buy it. Personally, I'd just wait for the inevitable PS3 price drop. At that time, there will be more games for it anyways.
Plus, with MGS3 being released exclusively for the PS3....'nuff said.
Extasie, the comment about developers taking more time to release better looking games for the PS3 is hardly true. Even on launch, the PS3 graphics are on par, if not better than the 360, which still doesn't have the third party support to compete with Sony. If anything, a year down the road, the PS3 games should be stellar in graphics quality.
Just MHO.
Sony is going to milk this cash cow though. Everybody knows it. And everybody still wants one.

I'm gonna wait for the price to drop on the PS3.....$675 is a LOT for a gaming system  :eyespop:

haha...buts its not just a gaming system..its everything in one!
But yeah...i'm not going to get a PS3 right now.
There are honestly no games out that I want for it. Give it a year or something and by them they should have some great games.
As for now, I just got FFXII for the PS2, so i'll finish that one first.
But I can't stop playing NHL07 for my 360! Toronto Vs. Pittsburgh in the Conference Semi-finals! woohoo

haha..thats awesome.
The Wii does look entertaining, and gaming should not be considered about the graphics.
I just cant' see myself doing the "Wii" after a long day of work or clubbing.
I like to play while sleeping in my bed haha.

Then use the Classic controller instead of the Wiimote and stick.

not only that but all the movements you see on video are exaggerated to really show what the remote can do. Small wrist gestures will be enough in most cases.

Not true. The Wii's line up is probably the best launch line up in the last 10 years.
Nintendo is so smart releasing just 2 days after the PS3...let Sony get the hype for 2 days, then when there's no PS3's available, Nintendo launches their onslaught and everybody forgets about the PS3.

TOKYO — Sony's PlayStation 3 game console, which went on sale in Japan over the weekend leading off a global launch, can't play some of the older games for the original PlayStation and the upgrade PlayStation 2, a company official said Tuesday.
Sony Corp. had billed PlayStation 3 as compatible with the previous PlayStation machines.
But Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said some of the 8,000 older games weren't working properly on PS3, making the wrong sounds or images, and some couldn't be played at all.
He declined to give a number for the games that weren't functioning, but he said the same problem is expected when the game console goes on sale in the U.S. Nov. 17. About 16,000 different games have been sold for the PlayStation and PlayStation 3 in North America.
Fukuoka said the problems in playing the older games were not a glitch and had been expected. Sony announced the problem on its web page Nov. 11, the day when the PS3 went on sale to lines of eager fans at Japanese retailers.
Users can punch in the name of the PS or PS2 game on the web page, and a list will pop up, telling you if the game can be played without problems or not.
For example, all the “Biohazard” series games can be played without problem, except for one in which a virtual gun won't fire properly, according to Sony's web page.
“We are sorry for the game fans that they cannot play all the games,” Fukuoka said. “But unfortunately some of these problems could not be avoided.”
PlayStation 3 is facing off in a three-way console war for this Christmas against Nintendo Co.'s Wii, which goes on sale Nov. 19 in the United States, and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360, which had a year's head start over rivals.
Although response has been enthusiastic to the PS3, the launch hasn't been smooth.
Production problems meant that only 100,000 PlayStation 3 machines were in time for its debut in Japan. When it goes on sale in the United States on Nov. 17, some 400,000 PS3 consoles will be available there.
The console's European launch has been pushed back until March. That was the second delay, as PS3 had been initially promised for spring of this year.
Sony has a lot riding on the success of the PS3, which is powered by the new “Cell” computer chip and supported by the next-generation Blu-ray video disc format.
But Sony will be losing money for a some time because of the high costs for research and production that went into the highly sophisticated machine.
The red ink is coming at a time when the Japanese electronics and entertainment company, known for the Walkman portable audio player and “Spider-Man” movies, is struggling to stage a comeback.
In recent years, Sony has fallen behind in key products like flat-panel TVs and digital music players. A fumble in its PS3 business could prove a huge blow at a time when it's seeing its brand image badly tarnished by a massive global recall of lithium-ion batteries for laptops.
Sony s on its fans yet again. Promise full backwards compatibility, then on the day of launch they come out and say "oh well its not FULLY backwards compatible"...lol...I wonder how long before those blu-ray lenses start crapping out on people
