i know what you mean about the people that just flail around with them in their arms thinking they are badass, but we treat it as an artform. in addition we provide a service to the crowd and get nothing but positive feedback wherever we go ;) we are not overbearing about it, we pick our spots wisely (based both on location and track selection). you'd be amazed how much we light up peoples' night :toocool: it's all done for the love of the music.
most of the time tho it's the dj's call on allowing the sticks or not, but sometimes clubs dont allow them because the people that use strings present a hazard to the rest of the crowd (we do not use strings). all the dj's that truly love the culture and arent just in it for the money allow people to stick tho. last time i saw A&B we were allowed to bring sticks in so im hoping Pacha is cool about it... |
haha...corporate sponsors. Im sure you are talented but the only thing glowsticks are good for is providing entertainment to E-heads. Boogaloo is where its at! |

It's great you use your talent to bring a positive vibe to the party, but you are in the minority now. As has been discussed before: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...492#post6596492
The NYC scene is not the same as it was even 5 years ago. Most people don't bother with developing skills in glowsticking, liquid, and dancing. The focus has shifted away from 'What can I contribute to making this a good party?' to mindless gallivanting and 'How can I look good, so I can pick someone up?' It's unfortunate but true for the major venues in NYC. |

Not true. Talented glow stickers are entertaining sober or not sober to some people. I am cool with it as long as you are not taking up a 50 foot radius when the place is over booked as it is. ;) |

| my point is that glowsticking is still cool...but a bit in the past...I feel that boogaloo, which is a form of popping, has taken its place. |

I'm fine with the glowsticks until someone hits me in the junk. Hopefully I won't have to experience that. I'll be flying solo to this unless I can convince one of my friends to come along.

awesome... I've been dying to see Above & Beyond.
I just saw AVB at Crobar in Oct.
a couple of dumb questions:
1.Are all Made events as intense as Armin's in Oct? The lighting was amazing. If that's typical of their productions, then this should be incredible as well.
2.How is "Pacha" pronounced? ;) |
