So for months ive been wondering why i have been getting "non transponder fees" when ive been using my transponder. These fees arent cheap either. They started off at $1 back in 1998 but are now $7.
Anyways finally i called and found out what was going on. Unknown to anyone they "changed their policy" and now each transponder is actually assigned to each car. I had been using my dad's transponder which had worked fine for years but suddenly this isnt good enough for the highway gods.
So i called up to talk to them. I wasnt being rude or loud but merely stating why i felt that this policy was wrong and they hung up on me!
I will never again use the 407. It is a cancer that runs through the GTA. Bad enough that they charge THE HIGHEST TOLLS IN THE WORLD. But then they add on a $7 service charge EVEN THOUGH YOU ACTUALLY USED THE TRANSPONDER.
Enough! |

im behind you. I think its sickening to pay hundreds of dollars a month to drive to work or wherever on tolls.
I think we are stuck with 407 fees for like 100 yrs?
Don't we have enough of paying rising gas prices, sick car insurance fees(plz Ontario gov., do it like they do in Quebec), and now tolls... |

I dont think its negativity, its raising issues to the public. Perhaps TA is not the audience to make something happen on the problem....but it does raise some awareness. |

I think paying to use a road is pointless. Isn't that what taxes are for in the first place?
I'd rather sit on the 401 then pay to drive on a highway...I just can't understand paying...
The only exception is if I were to drive my father's company car...then I have no objection at all. |
