Thank you but I would really rather not patronize an evil, liberal politician. He has enough money as it is.

Ehh, the film is about the effects of climate change and how we contribute to it, not a money making scheme. Sure, Gore might receive some perks for tickets and books sold, but nonetheless, he is one of few prominent American politicians who are using their publicity in an effective way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of Gore. You can say whatever you want about Gore and his agenda, evil politician blah blah blah. The truth is that climate change is real, and this film does a good job explaining it.
Ever heard of sustainable development? Do you even know how climate change works and how it affects us? Did you ever consider how the dependence on oil affects geopolitics and the climate as well, an apolitical resource shared by everybody?Talk to your grandkids in about 50 years and then look back on your comment about his political agenda while you weep knowing that your kids and their kids are going to suffer from environmental damage that is no longer reversible because of the activities resulting from our generation.

Check out the movie before you talk and spill your anti-political schmick-schmack nonsense about patronizing or whatever. If anything, you are doing yourself a favor by knowing whatsup. Literally.

considering that Kerry's political influence is now absolutely gone, no, it doesn't really concern me. His days of influencing policy are long gone.

ALSO

A single volcanic eruption like Mt. St Helen spews out more greenhouse gases than the SUM TOTAL of every action of manking ever. Basically, anything we do is a drop in the bucket compared to natural processes anyway. I ing hate pseudoscience like this because it's so misleading.

Actually, that is not a given, now is it? We are currently measuring and studying the scope of man's impact on the earth and on our environment. Do the gases from a single volcanic eruption overshadow industrialization and deforestation?

I doubt it. What we do know is that we can control what we do to our world and our environment. We can and should control ourselves in the hopes of preserving what we enjoy for our children and our grandchildren.

ugh such ignorance in this thread...

watch the movie and take it in because it concerns all of us, politics aside, you will discover that this man would have been a better president than the that was elected.

An Inconvenient Truth is, according to this post on the official website's blog, the first carbon-neutral documentary. "Paramount Classics, Participant Productions, and NativeEnergy have joined forces to offset 100% of the carbon dioxide emissions from air and ground transportation and hotels for production and promotional activities associated with the documentary." Al Gore has also mentioned in numerous interviews that he has made his life carbon-neutral, and now he's announcing that "100 percent of the profits from the book and the movie [will go] to a new bipartisan educational campaign to further spread the message about global warming." That's in addition to forming a thousand people to give his slide presentation around the world. We're curious to see what the movie's critics will think of next... They certainly haven't successfully attacked the science thus far and now they're losing some fuel for their "attack the messenger instead of the message" campaign.

al gore is evil? come on, have we run out of ad hominem attacks for everything non-republican already? :haha:
