I have to say that I had a really good time at this event.
Congratulations to Nocturnal on their anniversary and putting on a great event for all of us to attend. The crowd was ok and the number of people in the place was perfect. I always had space to breath and dance, it was quite refreshing.
Kurd was amazing... Simon as always was fun and I am not sure who was on after Simon... but man did he kick it. I was dancing so hard early in the morning, it was insanity.
The tone of Erick's set was not what I am used to hearing from him. Coming fom Miami and hearing the amazing funky electro beats on the Space terrace and then listening to this set at the docks was a huge difference. I am not sure I can say that I appreciated his set fully. I found there to be too many breaks and not enough intensity overall. I hope he is not changing his style.. It would break my heart.
Overall, it was a great time. I had a blast. My favourite part of the night was when Phantasm left with Love Sensation playing so that Erick had to play it... I got shivers and hot flashes at the same time... I felt like I was back in Miami...
Thanks to everyone who made my night by attending, it just wouldn't be the same without all of you :D |

Well... First and formost Thank you to Andrew Reid for everything you did. Over and above is an understatement.
To start I ask merely for a flyer and then I end the night with a signed poster. Which is an added bonus as I have quite an extensive collection of those as well.
The clincher.. Phantasm plays Love Sensation and I throw a temper tantrum in front of the booth thinking that the song should have been left to Erick or Kurd to play. Little did I know that it was the transition to Erick. I then gave it some more thought and figured out that Phantasm likely ended the set with it on purpose so as to allow me to hear it from Erick..
I was eating my words.. Thank you so much for creating perfection with the opening.
Review of the party.... Erick's A game was not there. I think he actually left his B and C games at home as well. Having said that with Love Sensation as the opener I did not pay close attention to the tunes after that. The party was exactly what I wanted. A great night with my friends.. set to a soundtrack provided by Erick Morillo.
He kept it going until about 7:15. Hit all genres and types and had some weird trancey house song near the end. Danielle and Shelley's bonding.. :)
Hil for the hardcore award and Kevin for my favorite moment.. You can let your backbone slide any day.
Grinder gets the award for being the best. He hung on until the end so that I did not have to leave before Erick.. it got me a conversation with Erick and the signed poster..
All the usual suspects .. it is always a pleasure to share the dance floor with you..
Gera very nice to share the end of the night with you...
Finally.. biggest no show goes out to Nada.. where the f were you? Bitch Please...
Puffy comes to the T-Dot... 5th times the charm. Thank you for not getting on the mike. I really appreciate not having to live through things that I have had to in the past. Also.. I am quite happy he left his whistle at home. |

Alright a mini review:
- Happy Birthday Carney and Dannie! <3
- I had a lovely time with lovely friends, always a blast
- I fell in love with Phantasm on the boat cruise in August, he didnt disappoint tonight either but hardly brought anything new to the table, same kicking anthems but nothing fresh
- Morillo was def not on fire last night. Hardly played any big classics and the oldies he did play were mediocre ones.
- Morillo also seemed to have had a stinky attitude that id never noticed previously, spent the entire night with eyes closed in his own world not giving us the benefit of looking at us when he finally did drop the beat. Whatever, I could care less if a dj is putting on a show when they are killing it musically, but he was not.
- Sound system was e, no bass, and so many glitches
- Tunes in the other room were killer, everytime I ventured in it was rocking. Adored Matt Shaw and as always Simon Jain tore the place apart- there was lots of serious morillo competition in that room, excellent work
- Very nice meeting you Gera, thanks for saying hi
- P. Diddy and I shared a fabulous moment involving hearts, lol it was so awesome, very surreal that he was there, bizzaro.
- All in all a really great night out, not musically, but I still had a lot of fun- Erick is off my fav dj list, was e last night and its going to take some time for me to embrace him again.
Thanks for playing friends! xo |

I agree music wasnt the greatest from Morillo. Track selection I thought was awesome....but damn way too many breaks and buildups that sometimes wouldnt lead to anything! Such a tease!
However it was a decent nite, luckily I got early bird tickets. Place wasnt too rammed at all and getting in was not a hassle as well as coat check. |

errrm yea what else is new
:p
that has always been my biggest annoyance with him. 3 min long breakdowns on every track. its so ing annoying.
:haha:
anyways how were richard dinsdale + kurd maverick (my only reasons for even thinking of going to this) |

phantasm was awesome (i absolutely loved hearing hard to beat (axwell remix) really sucked how the bass was shut off basically throughout this set
hatiras was awesome...lots of cool stuff in his set
morillo? not impressed, got no vibe from his set. and kurd? that was not kurd on the decks at 1:15 as promised...who was that?
good night, but not as memorable as the reconnected house event at the docks last year. |

Still waiting to see the very first positive review here. Does one even exist with everyone sugar-coating a blah night? LOL
Now I'm really glad that I missed this party and have no regrets for skipping out on this. WOW, at least I still have AWESOME memories of Morillo's magic at the GUV on Boxing Day 1999.:toocool: |
