One more highlight of the night for me...
So after Sasha drops that uplifting track and gets off the decks I head over to the bathroom and he's standing right there with JVM. People are just walking by him and not saying anything so I walked up to him and asked him to play Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha Vs The Light). I have always been obsessed with the track and have never heard it out. He smiles and says "I don't think I have that mate, No sorry I don't have it with me." I'm like cool no problem and walk into the bathroom. As I walk out he's still standing there with JVM and nobody is approaching him so I'm like "Yo that set was dope what was that last track you dropped." He says "It's Thom Yorke." I'm like "Is it a mash up you did, a remix?" and he says "It's a bootleg." I start to walk off and he stops me and asks "Hey are you Frank from Infusion." "I'm like No but I get that all the time."

Yeah, I've seen Jimmy at Icon as well. Personally I thought his set there was great (this was around 2002 I think) but to each his/her own.
I've noticed that there's finally some good, consistent weekly events happening in Orlando again. Destiny is bringing a lot of great House DJs on Saturdays, Firestone has been stepping it up mainly on Thursdays, with DJs like PVD and Uberzone, and there's Rhythm & Flow doing more than it's fair share as well. Is Zinc Bar still around? |

Yeah Zinc is still around for the random gig. They just had JZ not too long ago. Icon is getting Sharam soon too. |

Icon is still hosting EDM nights on occasion? I thought it was all commercial Hip Hop nights now.
Sharam is awesome! Some of the best nights ever at Icon were when Deep Dish were on the decks, or at least one of them.
I saw that Icey and Kimball Collins will be at Firestone for thhe new years party, not bad :) |

| Ive seen Jimmy before back in 02 I think it was, and I loved the guy. Ive digged he's stuff but I dont know, It was too much of a drain waiting till 3AM, guess IM not used to those long type of sets, or I guess I just wasnt ready for a prolonged warm-up set. I love the atmospheric kind of progressive, but only for a while... not for a consistent 3 hours ( and more for those there from 10-11PM ) , that formula in my eyes doesnt work well.. last thing you know your feets are already starting to hurt and the Redbull & Vodka effect just aint doing it anymore.. other then that, the Sasha that I heard was progressing into a banger .. I knew he would blow the place up later on, but bleh.. |

there were times during JVMs set where he had me thinking "ok its getting better". but like then hed kinda just brig it back down. i dunno i guess i just like to hear sets that progressively get better. maybe another thing was that i was expecting sasha to go on at 2, so having to unexpectingly have to hear JVM for another hour of what i thought to be somewhat of a boring set, just didnt really do it for me
but sasha finally went on n all was good :)
n well maybe in a someways it kinda was good that JVM kept it kinda chill cuz once sasha came on it felt like the music got ALOT better... but then again its because the music WAS alot better. my 2 cents |

My review:
Got there around around 2 (we were trying for 12:30 but were late as hell). I had won VIP tickets from Sasha's ticket giveaway (http://djsasha.com/news_detail.php?nid=c24cd7253 ya bitches), so we get in the VIP line and say let us in, we're on the list. She goes, "the list ends at one", and we say, " . oh wait, we're on Sasha's personal guest list". She then does something a Space employee has never done; apologizes! So they ask my name, and let us right in (didn't even check my ID).
+1 to everything everone else said about JVM and Sasha. I only heard the last hour of JVM and it was ok. Sasha was bangin in the main room, but i wanted to hear more terracey stuff on the terrace. I wanted 1983/more trancy stuff. He really dissapointed me in that aspect.
Clevername and I took a bunch of vids and pics. They'll be posted later.

Oh and how could I foregt; I met Sasha's wife :wtf:
I was hanging out by the door to the booth (because the bouncer told me I get booth access, which I don't) and this hot blonde walks out. I tell her I'm on Sasha's guest list, and she says I can't go in because "sasha's in the zone" and "oh btw, im his wife". Shoulda got a pic, but she walked away too fast. (she in that vid in my previous post) |

RIDICULITIS!
got there around midnight...left around 11 a.m. saturday morning.
i somehow ended up chilling and walking around the club with some crazy little funny british guy who ended up being one of sasha's oldest friends. guess they used to be roommates or something. he offered to take me up behind the DJ booth on the patio, but i was a little too ed up and stayed at the back bar with my crew, just dancing away.
i got up close right in front of the patio booth for a bit and sasha was so ed up, he kept rolling his eyes back and trying to stand up. haha i was like, "damn"
only thing that bummed me out was that he played some other remix of Gebrunn Gebrunn...i was waiting for that track all night:(
