I agree. All of they're products are assembled by little sweat shop children in third world countries. On top of that upgrading them with non Dell products is a real bitch due to the way they are set up inside.

Oh yea and HP sucks ass too. My company thought Dell was bad and ched to HP thinking the grass would be greener on that side but it sure got pretty rotten really fast. We did a rollout for over 800 stores purching multiple pices of equipment per store. Not only did they send us tons of defective equipment and delay shipments but they charged us for the replacements for a second time and guess who had the pleasure of disputing all of those payments. Not fun :(

Mac, Toshiba, or Sony is the way to go.

we all use only toshiba at the office. Great machines, very reliable and long lasting.

i use IBM and its mainly design for work and productivity. I love it cuz it doesnt look like a toy with glowing LEDs and that thing is made to last. My biggest pet peeve about laptops, especially Dell, is that the screen always wobbles and eventually, breaking at the hinge. On my laptop, the hinge is made out of metal so the screen doesnt wobble.

i think im going to a toshiba this time. used to have a dell and worked fine until the screen died on me followed by a autodestructive bios. anyway, toshiba tecra is the way to go!

Actually Dell is a much more green friendly company than apple, or just about any other computer company for that matter. Oh and Apple computers are designed in Cali and manufactured in, China. Unless your buying a boutique computer from a small company and paying top dollar for it, expect it to be assembled in China. And something like 80% of all the parts are created outside of the US, i think AMD and intel have a few fabs in the US along with sun, but other than that nothing.

why?

i go to the apple store to see what all the fuss is about and i only get confused... doesnt make sense to me...

my pc has worked for years... why change now?

btw.. i have a gateway laptop for almost 3 years now.. still works as good as the day i got it.. 60gb 512ram

yes most computer parts are made/assembled in china, doesn't mean its necessarily assembled by sweatshop children... lol. simply put, labor is cheaper over there.

if you really want to go non-mac, strictly go with toshiba, acer, or possibly lenovo (i believe its same as ibm). otherwise... don't even bother wasting your money.

at this point in time though, just go for a mac. sure its a bit more expensive but it'll pretty much be good to go for a while.
