ipods suck donkey ass

So yeah today I was trying to add a song to my ipod. Nothing is happening. I rebooted, tried it a few more times, etc. etc. No response from Winamp, it wasn't seeing the ipod. So I install the latest version of Winamp etc. Now Winamp won't open, it crashes. So I'm like getting late for work so I'm like this, I'll deal with it later. I find out later my ipod is wiped clean. All 37GB of music, gone. No playlists, nothing. Zip. What a stupid piece of .
Time to bust out the Creative Zen, the only reason Im using the ipod now is because its smaller so I use that for spring/summer. For Winter the bigger Creative comes out because I can stash that in my coat.

the only time it seems people have a problem is when they try to use an Apple product with non apple software... I really don't get what the big deal is with it?!?! I have a windows PC - sync my iPod with iTunes and all my beatport purchases, mix sets, etc... I have not had 1 issue to date. I have 5 gen ipod video... not sure if this is why or what but man... sorry to hear about your probs.
Of course I never had a problem with the ZenXtra jukebox either but couldn't stand their interface compared to apple's |

| itunes is garbage. I refuse to use it anymore. The winamp interface was working fine - until today. Albeit slow, but I blame apple for that. Yes Creative's software is not the best either but it is light years ahead of any software apple makes for pc. |

lol.. fool... why is iTunes garbage? I'm not PRO APPLE by any means... I just have never had any issues that you speak of... |

because its slow, buggy, and crap? this is common opinion among various circles, btw. its not a user issue, I will admit my ipod has been working OK for the most part since I first got it, as a gift btw. ;p I was doing normal routine adding of a song, when it decided to do its "own thing". ipod = crap |

if i'm not mistaken, you have an old one. Any chance you would consider getting a new one if it didn't give you all the trouble you have now? |

when I said slow, buggy, and crap, i was talking about itunes. :P I do have a 4G ipod (B&W screen) that is pretty much a dinosaur at this point, but like I said, it was working fine - today is the first time it has had such an issue. But still, its the cause of much anger and hostility. Previous issues have only been software-related, not ipod.
If I were to buy an audio/video player right now, it would be this or this. Both have a myriad of options and features that the ipod can only dream of having (out of the box, at least). Line-in recording, full customizable EQ (the Trekstor has a parametric with adjustable bandwidths, the Cowon might too) and sound quality to match. The video on ipod is nice but the screen on the Cowon A2 kicks its ass. The only gripe I have with these 2 players is storage space. 20GB and 15GB is kinda on the low end at this point. But I won't be buying anytime soon, and Toshiba just announced 100GB portable media drives. woot. |
