| I don't give 3 nipples about who's headlining, If there's a trance stage or a line-up that's up to par, i'm in |

I am super excited for The Cure to be there. I have seen them live 5 times over the past 7 years and have been impressed every time. I do think it should be on the side stage but it will be a fantastic show regardless.
and U2 sucks now. |
U R so right. I stand corrected. I forgot that U2 cannot get 100 people into an arena nowadays, while the Cure is busy selling out 80,000+ capacity stadiums around the globe. Just don't forget your black lipstick and white facepaint for your frontrow center seat for the Cure @ Ultra. |

Saw them when I was 13 with my Dad and Brother in the Old Miami Arena.
He rocked the panthers jersey too.
It was still one of th best memories ever.
Maybe you can say that about them now. But in the late 90's they rocked it. |
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Do not get me wrong I liked a few of their productions. However I just do not see them as enough of a high energy live act to headline @ Ultra. That is just my opinion of course. And I can say that with all due respect to Duran Duran, the dropoff in energy/vibe when I went to their stage @ Bang was huge. IMO to keep up with EDM DJs/acts they have to book high energy live acts. Perfect example was NIN @ GG.
But whatever. Depeche Mode is the new addition, and not bad. Yet it seems like Ultra is trying to make another "Back to the Future" movie with all these old-timers being booked. Maybe they should just do an 80s/early 90s retro stage, adding Tears for Fears, REM, New Order, Culture Club, etc. (j/k - let's not give them any ideas) |

Ultra needs to.. and should book dj's that play in Ibiza.
Ppl all over the world flock to Ibiza the entire summer. You want that crowd in Miami.
Not eyeliner wearing ppl.
I'm tired of the same 100 dj's every year. The only way it CAN ever revive itself is by adding new ppl.
Plus all the fake bitches we know that live in Miami will still go.. because omg I die.. it's Ultra and I don't know jacks about music except love comes again and i'm a pirate grrrrr |

Robert Smith (of The Cure) already said that they are not a dance band and the new album is not a dance record. He said they did however put out plenty of 12' mixes back in the day and have had a remix album. They are aware of what kind of festival it is and will have a somewhat upbeat set.
Again, i still think it should be off the main stage. Depeche Mode live last year was awesome. That was a dancey electronic show. I was really hoping for New Order or the Pet Shop Boys but The Cure will do. |

Yeah I heard about it, the "CURE for Insomnia" festival. (j/k) I couldn't resist.
Whatever, you like the Cure a lot, I don't think much of them. So be it. Have fun at their stage.
I just hope Ultra releases the full lineup already including all EDM acts they have booked, because that is when attending will be worth actually considering. Especially after last year's BS lineup IMO. Melly is right, it does seem to be the same DJs every year, minus all the trance acts they left out last year. And now they start booking the Cure and DM as headliners, which makes it seem they are going super commercial this year IMO. If so I will pass. |
