The Cure is headlining Ultra next year. And Paul Van Dyk has also been confirmed for the Festival via pamdj's site.

GG pulled it off well because there were plenty of big name trance & house acts to please everyone. I doubt that Ultra is gonna book more trance than 2006

Actually GG was not the first festival to do this. They followed in Coachella's footsteps, which is a huge festival in Cali which has always blended EDM with rock and other musical genres. And although I did not go, I do believe Ultra had some non EDM acts already last year. And GG and Bang both pulled it off as well.

But the Cure this year??? They really lost it. And I know they pulled that out of their ass when they saw Duran Duran being booked by Bang - it's an 80s thing I guess????

A live PA from Daft Punk, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, or Kraftwerk would be sooooo much better than anything the Cure has to offer IMO.

couldnt agree more.. everyone likes the cure and ya they were a really infulential band but i dont wanna see some 55+ year old dudes still trying rock out and dear lord the crowd of emo fags that will flock, cure has a hardcore fanbase of kids in makeup and ..

and also the fact that theyll use this as a lame excuse to jack up ticket prices..:whip:

With all due respect to the Cure, they had some good songs and all back then, but they never have been a great live act.

dont hate... besides.. the cure is only the fokin greatest band to come out of the 80s, at least i think so.

theyve been a favorite of mine for as long as i can remember so for me atleast itd be pretty kick ass to see them live ( n plus who knows how much longer theyll be together, they must be gettin old):p

The most effect The Cure ever had on anyone was Mecha-Barbara Streisand.
