lol, mate there are a lot of places in melbourne in which you can pay $20 for the door tax and you can still go home with a chick, and you get your money's worth :)

Damn, I don't remember making this thread, LOL.
But it's been something on my mind since I got here. And I really don't mean to single out Evolution, it's pretty much every club in this city. I ing HATE paying cover, as I'm sure every does. But $20 is ing stupid!!!
Home Nightclub in SYD = $20
Family Nightclub in BRIS = $15
The Guvernment, Toronto (one of the biggest super clubs in the world) = $10!
Cover charge is ridiculous here! Can't believe how much they charge people to have a good time. |

Your post shows a pretty ignorant knowledge of how clubs work Mortyman.
Majority of nights in Melbourne are run by crews, not the venue. Normal deal is that the venue takes the bar & pays staff and security and the promoters take care of paying the DJ's as well as all promotional costs. Hence without that cover charge you wouldn't be having the good time you have mentioned, because there would be no night to head out to.
$20 is at the top end of the scale for sure, but ing stupid? Not really. Vote with your feet if you don't think you're getting value for money, but if you don't think paying somewhere between $10-20 to go out and hear some DJ's spin the records you want to dance to is value for your money then i guess i find that a little strange personally. |
