and second, i agree with theresa. its a matter of respect to incorporate other religious/cultural beliefs. In no way should Christianity be reduced, but a lot of companies are choosing this root instead of sharing the holidays. espepecially a public traded company the size of SeaTac Airport, who probably employs and caters to millions of people from diverse religions and cultures. in my opinion the refusal to do so shows LACK of Christmas spirit and all that love your neighbour Christians speak so easily of
and lastly, you all need to calm the down and ask some questions before you speak |

He was originally going to sue and then after the story blew up in his face and he became widely critisized he dropped the idea and said that he had no intention to anymore. |

Companies have no problem selling christmas to us. They just refuse to call it christmas. Which is another reason why i take great exception to this hypocrisy. |

you have skipped half the issue here. the rabbi asked to be allowed to put up a religious symbol during his holiday. the airport people decided that they'd rather screw christmas then allow this guy to have his menorah, and maybe spread the holiday spirit to a little more people.

I cant blame them for taking them down. Their reasoning was that if they put up a menorah, theyd then get sued by every other religion. Personally i would have said bring on the lawsuit and made a constitutional issue out of it. Freedom of speech also means the freedom to not say something. |

That's not the issue here. The issue is the guy threatened to sue because he felt his religion was not properly recognized which is absolutely ridiculous.
And Jay is right. The reason why they took the trees down is because if they bent over at the threat of a lawsuit from this guy, they'd need to have religious symbols for every single religion under the sun. It would get to be ridiculous. |

Well... how many holiday symbols are there currently right now... Ramadan is long over... Diwali was last month... so that leaves us with Kawanzaa, Channukah, and what else?
But I agree...The rabbi took it too far. The orthodox in any religion are extreme IMO. |

On the Canadian goverment website Christmas is the only holiday observed, so the arguement has got NO LEGS.

stop taking your Christmas bonus, your Christmas day off, do not indulge in Christmas sales and have a banging day, whining that the holiday with which the nation celebrates is Christmas.
