Back to this Tiesto bashing nonsence. I've never been much of a PVD fan, but you don't see me going around posting messages talking about how he doesn't have good taste in music. I just don't go to his nights @ Vanguard and when he went on @ Monster Massive. I just went outside and shook my booty to some house music.

Well said.

OMG! You mean to tell me he's not? :( What about all those other DJs that people get all excited about?

ROFL, got a good laugh from this.

mar4whatever and nerdgrl, just cause you don't voice your opinions doesn't mean others can't. and I'm trying to keep as civil as possible in a thread about a DJ who I think is truly HURTING the electronic music scene.

I'll save TSG's laughs!

How is he "HURTING" the electronic scene??? He would be hurting the electronic scene if he just retired, stopped doing gigs (all around the world)and just chilled off the royalties he receives from his CD's.

You know what "HURT" the electronic scene??? Raves did. Who ever went out the desert, took like 5+ pills, rolled off their ass and died.

Thats what "HURT" the electro scene.

#1 DJ according to DJMag? Absolutely Not. That's a fan poll. Whoever has the best PR wins. Popularity does not equal best.

As far as my issues with Tiesto these days? Other than most of his track selection, I have two words for you. Phrase match.

Tiesto is still my fav DJ of all time, though. :p

Tell me about this poll saw on this one page I see once in a while.

I don't think hes hurting the scene. He has a nice fanbase of n00bs, since he gets alot of those new to EDM and alot of those who havnt heard it anywhere else before, via the hype that comes with his name. At least even though his tracklists borrow most of their more original content from others, he still is playing his own sound (whatever that is now) and his shows are still more or less unique (and you cant say as much for Armin sometimes, when he decides to play ASOT by numbers)

I like alot of other DJs, but Tiesto and his hype machine do their thing, and there will always be people willing to pay big bucks for his "experience" :p
