The Insane Clown Posse - Can someone explain the appeal of these fellows to me?

I was listening to our university radio station late last night, and they apparently have a new dance music/hip hop show, and I heard some random dance remix of an ICP tune - I have no idea what it was, nor do I care.
It got me thinking though, I've been hearing the "music" these guys churn out for years and I've never once understood why people gravitate to it. It's unnecessarily obscene, displays horrid production that my 12 year old sister is capable of exceeding (seriously), and in general seems to lack any kind of "point" (though whether or not music requires a "point" is a matter all its own).
So - Can any of you out there explain to me why these jokesters are worth anyone's time? They sell an immense amount of music and merchandise - Is that all there is?

Apparently their obscene lyrics and "out there" (how else do you describe it) style appeals to impressionable, anti-conformity, anti-societal youth. My limited observation has shown that they appeal to a more gothic crowd too, which is weird cause I thought all they liked was death metal and terror core. :nervous:
On a related note, one drunken night a couple months back, some 'mislead' teenagers walked past our house while we were smokin cigars on the porch. Being the hospitable lads we are, we acknowledged them walking by which somehow led them to spray paint a trident, the word "" and coincidentally, "ICP" on our damn sidewalk, followed by lighting it all on fire. "U SUX DICK" was also spray painted on the sidewalk, but that was done by one of the girls we were hangin out with in her drunken stupor.

"Fat chicks need loving too".
With the growing obesity problem, the number of overweight females has ballooned (dis)proportionally. This girls don not feel included or sexually attractive.
Shaggy2Dope and whatever the other guys name is saw these women and thought, this can be our musical niche. They started writing songs about the appeals of fat chicks. Overwight girls appeared in their videos and the ICP sprayed high sugar soda all over their concert-goers so they can continue to consume calories even while burning them through dancing, tripping on acid, or intercourse.
Without ICP proclaiming the attractiveness of fat girls, who would sing their praises? |

Alright, I'll admit it. I've listened to ICP for years. But I take it for what it is. I'm not all serious or crazy about it. It's just something goofy to listen to now and then. I'm not the crazy juggalo kid you see running around with joker card symbols all over my car and a general hatred for society and conformity. |

They're popular for the same reason as Kiss was/is. Their fans buy into the mythology they create.
I have to admit their whole Hell's Circus idea isn't all that bad of an idea, and it buys right into teenager male demographics who love that kind of stuff. Selling it through hip hop though... well, there's actually quite a bit of 'horrorcore' out there, probably best done by Gravediggaz.
Hehe. I had a couple of friends on high school who were big time juggalos. I wonder if they enjoy them as much these days? |

The worst band in the history of music. Hands Down.
It consists of two white-trying-to-be-black losers who cant make music if their lives depended on it. I dont know there names (the douchebag and the fatass)

There fans are worse usually obssesive of them to the point of as a idols. they even drink Insane Clown Posse own soda drink; Faygo (Cheap ass Soda like Big K)
It gets worse much worse, i dont have time to go into detail.
I know this because i had to deal with this type of bull back in high school. :o |
