What do you mean or else! We are playing in the house room LOL

I started off playing house years ago and I've played with Mark Farina many times, so it will be a fun transition. Looking forward to this Saturday!

I meant trance or DnB room woops. I know you both will be rockin it. I was just giving you so that way you will throw down some hard tracks. I listened to one of your Spundae on Air sets Alain and I swore it was trance. I guess not. See you guys their. LA in the house!
Alain
Oh I play everything =)

but I play depending who Im playing with or opening up for. As for slots like on a radio, basically whatever I'm in the mood for

The first Air Spundae I did was more progressive and trance, the most recent one I did was techno / tech house

Very cool though have a safe trip on your way up here!

Heard what I expected, mainly with the dealing of the timeslots.

Timeslots were a catastrophe and energy was all over the place because of it.

Looks like going from CL to Deep Voices (who play much slower than CL) to IM (who apparently banged out) was a real momentum killer.

~~~~~ The following is more towards a bunch of organizers, not any individual one, because this issue comes up everywhere!! ~~~~~~
Still shocks me how timeslots at some events are just setup so bad. SET YOUR LINEUP UP SO THERE IS GOOD PROGRESSION!!!
God, why is that so difficult. I just don't understand it. I imagine it's easier said than done, but still....it's so important to a good night....so put the effort into doing it right. Or (IMO), don't do it at all.
Would rather have rare massives that I can anticipate with excitement and know everything will be awesome than ones on a regularly expected basis where my mindset is more towards wondering how the timeslots will be done to mess everything up.
While crap like Sensation has this same issue, I'd say most massives in Europe do it right….why can't most massives out here on the west coast do the same. :p
well i went to popsicle and all i can say is WOW good nite. didnt like the fact that some ppl are more rude since im from la haha but c.lawerence wrecked shop on the dance floor, dj dan killed it really good music throughout the whole nite. good production. too many etards though but tahts expected
I am thoroughly glad that I decided to go to Bassnectar's CD release party instead.
But I hope that any popsicle goers had a good night as well.
Of course it's obvious Europe and U.S are 2 different dance cultures and "politics".
minus NYE the West Coast (SF and LA) has what 6-8 massives all year round? The UK alone in almost the same amount of land has triple of that, plus a club culture that's better recieved by eletronic music listeners. In relation to that, they have more venues too. So there's a lot of room to spread talent around throughout the year.
Just talking with promoters around the U.S it's a common problem. Many times half of the timeslots are arranged before the promoter can even have his or her way. It really comes down to the fact that agents are just trying to break their djs more and more into the American scene. They'll use whatever leverage they have to get their DJ in the best slot, regardless of the transition.
Anyhow Saturday's party was fun, saw a lot of people I haven't seen in years. Even the original Funky Tekno Tribe promoters showed up, which was a surprise. The house room was going off, I don't think there was ever a break in that room.
From Mark Farina > Kaskade > DJ Dan > Sneak
even a lot of people who are more into Trance told me they enjoyed the house room more, just because of the energy in there.
I really enjoyed Benny Benassi's set, but in all honesty he would have worked out better in the house room. It was extremely noticable that his set threw the whole main room off.
Infected Mushroom was definitely the highlight of the night, they had the whole main room jumping up and down at times.
