rememember that all first generations of IPOD had a loads of problems too. i like the concept of the zune and its file sharing. and i hate Itune with a passion |

This happened about a week ago.
I have a 60GB colour/photo (not video) iPod. I have had it since Nov '05 when I bought it from eBay @ 400$ (it was 2 weeks old, guarantee or warantee, whatever it is, was included but it was only for a year :()
So ya.
I lost 37GB of my life (my music) and I cried soooo much for like an hour!!! Fortunately I have SOME of it backed up (maybe half of what I had :()I called some people who are good at these situations and they all told me it's gone for good...
Help :(

I also read somewhere that using your ipod on multiple itunes erases everything you have to take whatever is on the other itunes librairy.
is it possible also that your usb port is a lower power source and it funked your ipod data somehow ? yes , to avoid this, Always plug your ipod deck DIRECTLY in usb port in the back of your computer (DO NOT USE A USB SPLITTER ON THIS PORT). |

| Whenever you plug in your iPod into iTunes it automatically synchronizes what's on that iTunes library with the iPod unless you specifically tell iTunes NOT to sync everything before you plug in the iPod (I think). Perhaps the new version is different...regardless I actually love iTunes. |

the feature on the zune to transfter to other zunes is sucks royally.
Plus if you pluged ur ipod that was configured for a mac computer into a regular pc goodbye tunes (and goes the same for pc to mac). |

Greg, I know you CAN take songs from other people's computers cuz I've done it in the past. You've just gotta take off the "sync" option.
Is the winamp plugin really that much better than itunes? |

i want to try it aswell but i already got like 20 gigs of music on my ipod... i dont really want to lose that if i activate the winamp plugin.... |
