MARRIED???!!! ewwwww no ing way. i have been cheated on, and there is no way in hell i would inflict that pain on someone. not even my worst enemy...because i am classier than that. |
i was kidding... mostly. :p
| quote: | | hehe yes i'm starting to think a rebound may be the way to go. who knows though, all i really need is my friends by me now, and meeting a few other hot male friends with good personalities wouldn't hurt either. it's hard to be in love/be loved for so long and then POOF! it's gone. it's kinda weird, i feel like hopping back into a relationship because that's what my instinct says, but i know that's a bad move. |
yah.. it took me an insanely long time to get over a relationship that last 5 years. we put each other through so much bull, yet still wouldn't walk away from each other. even after we had decided that it was officially *over* for good, neither of us were able to be completely over it until we were in new relationships with other people... and after that we were able to maintain a great friendship and now we laugh at how ridiculous we were, lol.
just keep your head up and look on the bright side of things. this is a learning experience, and a huge part of growing up. when all is said and done and you've moved beyond the situation, you'll be able to look back at it and realize how it's made you a better, stronger, smarter person... and it will prepare you for your next serious relationship. |

I actually REALLY talked to my first bf on New Year's...for the first time since I've been with my current bf, and it was SO good. We were so sentimental and gay...apologizing to each other for the nasty we did to each other, and thanking each other for the great learning experience, lol. |

haha.. doesn't it feel good?
Jim (the ex i was talking about in my previous post) and i go out for drinks at least once every few months, and we call/e-mail pretty regularly. it's so funny talking to him like we're good ol' buddies, joking about the stupid we did when we were together. |

Good for you! I think that's a good thing, and it clears the air. No need to stay nasty and all that crap unless it was really reaaaaaaaly bad. One of my ex's and I are really close, unbreakable and I love it. |

How do you get over someone you love without falling into the trap of "the rebound"?
And, unfortunately being friends with him won't work in my case. |
I was stuck in the same situation about two years ago. It was a friend was a of mine and I ended up bascially shagging her and going out with her etc. However she'd broken up from a serious relationship. About two months I got the old 'It's not you it's me' e I look at her now and think I'm better then that! Plus she was a bit on the loose side If you catch my drift.
Best bit of advice I can give you is get on with your life, as hard as it might be forget the certain person, spend time around your mates, be positive, do your own thing and keep yourself occupied you'll forget him in a few months. |
