In my case, trust me - it's not associating emotions to colors. It's actually visualizing them. I also see clear spots and bright lights when a migraine is on the way, or when the weather is about to change rapidly. Lots of ed up going on.....
:clown: |
can you see aura's too when you get like that? my stepdad used to see all sorts of crazy stuff pre-migrane. my grandma has this synesthesia thing along with a whole wack of other stuff that would be hard to believe unless you've seen it in action. |

These occurances happened long before I knew what a 'pill' was. |

| I can't say that I've ever experienced this. |

Synesthesia is the inter-coupling of SENSES (sight, sound, vision, taste, hearing) - not relating various emotive sets to stimuli.
|
So if I hear the track, "Put your hands up in Detroit" and I smell a strong stench of B.O. Is Synesthesia coming into play?

I strongly believe in this, because it always happens with me...hence why my reviews of certain tunes and parts of a set are always so visual and descriptive...I still think I'm just whacked.
It usually only happens with prog house and epic trance though...but sometimes I'll have quarky epiphanies when listening to minimal live...When Lee Burridge came to town..I felt like a circuit board listening to his stuff...and each tune triggered a socket. :P
EDIT: Just to clarify...this happens when I'm sober...(although the effect is strengthened when under the influence) |

Don't feel bad. Only 1 in 25 do (and in very varying degrees). |

| if i close my eyes while listening to trance I can visualize the music. Images of flying over landscapes, rays of light shooting in sync with the synths, stuff like that similar to what MilkDrop does for WinAmp. its pretty neat |

I want to see colours too!
My old experience I guess def isnt close to what synesthesia really is.
Next time, I read the thread thoroughly. |
