hah I have to agree. If I was a football purist I'd also be unimpressed.

LA is where Hollywood is. Its a perfect place for his wife to get her career back on track.

As far as Beckham joining the Galaxy goes, it was never a secret that he is the only footballer recognizable to a large chunk of the US population and with his popularity falling in Europe, this was a great move to use that image to once again become a high profile footballer and promote the game in the US as well. I think its a great move on his part but hes not going to last the full 5 years (3 years at most). Hes not the fittest of players.

I have always thought Becks was and he still is...The most overrated player to ever step on the pitch

Wicked, aren't you just the happiest little soul in the world?

You know what? I am just glad that I will get to see the beautiful game live for the first time in 3 years, support a real sport for a change instead of one where people stand around and scratch their balls and fob into a bowl or play human bumpercars with each other.

While LA's at it, they should sign Zidane too.. he's now the second most recognizable football player in the US :p ;)

Never been a fan of Beckham.
Always been overrated imo.
Good player, nowhere near great, just hype and looks (marketing)

But, this IS a great move for the MLS, no doubt.
Def glad its happened and hope it will greatly felp football (soccer) in N.America

You cannot compare the game here to the one in Europe...I have been to many games in Europe from Champs League, National Teams and league games...Footy is my first passion and I will tell you that I will not go to one toronto fc game...the quality of the MLS is ablsolute but I will be going to the U-20 world cup games when Portugal plays

If I don't care to watch MLS on tv then why would I pay money to watch it live and Beckham is the type of player that I could care less to watch (even though I saw him baloon a pk against us in Euro 04 HAHA)...now if you bring over Zidane or Figo then we'll talk other than that Boo to the MLS

Gotta agree. Purposely never payed ANY attention to the MLS cause
in reality it really is like a semi-pro league.

But this is exactly whyh its such a great move to bring Beckham,
especially to LA. He'll fit right in and give the league exactly
what it wants - showtime-like exposure, glitz, glamour...

But i will still never watch an MLS game.
La Liga, Serie A, Premiership is MORE than enuff, let alone Champs League

Too bad Figo signed with the arabian team, we would have been a good addition to the league.
