For the last couple of years he's been detoriorating, thats a fact but during his manchester period he was one of the best atm. Talented, Internationally, that being said the dude's clearly just in it for the money, first the ing gay galacticos and now galaxy, whats next, a trip to the moon ?

i'd throw down some money if there was a fund to send his ass there.

Maybe he should marry A-Rod. The have so much in common: they boy have $250 Million dollar contracts and both reside on the feminine side.

I'm still pumped about the move though!

Having just moved myself to LA today, I'm pretty pumped to be honest. Can't wait to kicking it with Becks at a club some night while PVD spins. :clown:

Yeah he's mainly a star because of his looks but I haven't had the chance to see anyone of notoriety live living in the U.S. Obviously his skills are on the downtrend and I agree he was mostly about passing and set pieces. Nevertheless, he was a star on my favorite team and I have fond memories of his long passes right to Ruuuuud's feet for a score! Plus, my girlfriend sure seemed excited. lol (I forgive her, having a hot girlfriend that loves futbol is nice).

I sincerely hope it helps the MLS, which I never really bother to watch now. Having a few aging stars isn't a terrible thing. I wouldn't mind seeing Ronaldo now in person as opposed to not having them at all. You can still have developing players in the remaining pieces.

His contract by the way is for 51 million for 5 years. The rest is for possible endorsement deals.

What's better? 1. Going to play for a lesser team like the rumors say in Europe with the hopes of playing more 2. Stay at Madrid for 2 more years and see his playing time continue to decrease for less money 3. Get insane amounts of money to relax in the sun in LA, be a celebrity in a new market, while making your scarecrow nagging bulimic wife happy.

Let's put it this way, I never would bother to watch or attend a MLS match before. Now, I will go see the Galaxy play in person.

more like 50,000 pounds a week. Its a 5 year deal for $125 million. The MLS has a salary cap not allowing clubs to pay over $1.3 million a week in total wages so thats a crap load of money by MLS standards.

Yea but American soccer clubs can't offer that to all players. There are strict wage stuctures and salary caps for each team, but each team can break this for one "star player".

The total package is inclusive of his image rights and sponsorship etc. It's probably not all that far off what he would have been earning at the beginning of his Madrid career.

Imo it shows very little footballing ambition, but it, i dont think theres many who wouldnt have done the same for that money and I'm sure a massive paycheque, celebrity status and the chance to rub shoulders with beverly hill's high society means more to Beckham than any footballing trophy would.

Exactly... unfortunately the Revolution don't play the Galaxy as much, because East v. West....lol... but if the schedule makers up and make the Revs-Galaxy game in Foxboro BEFORE August, heads will roll!!!

Expect tickets to sell a lot faster when the schedule comes out... I ALMOST thought about buying season tickets today, seeing as they start at $200... then I realized I'd only go to the Galaxy game...lol...

you wont be able to afford to get in the kind of clubs that beckham goes to. and i never thought he was that good looking anyway ive always thought that he looks abit gay.

if beckham was was still interested in playing football he would of gone back to england or stayed in spain but clearly posh and beck have seen the pound signs posh has said i want to live there and becks has gone running there doing it for the high life.

Everyone saw this coming from a mile away cos no other clubs set offers except for LA. He's doing a Pele/Maradona job by going to the US to make more money and make people remember him more, Although Pele and Maradona's careers were light years better from Beckhams.
