Are the parents the only ones to be blamed ? Or is the media to be blamed for showing such graphic violence ?

I'll say both.

Both, but much more responsibility is to be put on the parents. In my opinion, the media should be allowed to show anything that they can get away with. It allows society to be more educated, informed, etc.

At the same time it's up to the parents to be teaching their kids the correct difference between right and wrong, as well as filtering out the content that they do not want their children to see. The only problem with this, however, is that not many parents seem to be capable of doing so.

Good question.

I think they are both to blame, but more so the parents.

You can't stop what gets put through the media, but as a parent you do have the ability to tell your kids that what the media shows is not usually a good thing to listen to. And come the f*ck on, HANGING? Since when is hanging questionable weather it is good or bad? Even at the young age of twelve?

However, this type of stuff is shown on the news, which for a lot of households is a family television show. The regular news should not contain content so raw that it will corrupt its viewers. If there is a need for the raw news, it should be on another station, on another show that people know is not appropriate for children.

Personally, I don't think seeing that is good for children OR adults, so there shouldn't be a need to see it on television at all.

I agree with you on filtering out content like this on more family-oriented news stations. I wasn't aware that they actually showed this video on those (at least they didn't in my area). I only thought it was on the larger-name stations such as CNN, FOX News, etc.
