Fine, a 6-year-old might try some stupid like this, but ing 12, 13-year-olds? How can you not understand the concept of death at that age?

Seriously....

How can you be old enough to tie a slip-knot but not old enough to know that it's possible to die?

no problem.

back to topic - parents fault. it's their responsibility what children watch on TV in the first place. and if by accident they see some you tell them it's bad, give an example... hell i don't know hang the cat... "see timmy, fluffy is not very alive anymore is it."

I don't even know how to tie one of those things. :stongue:

Both, but much more responsibility is to be put on the parents. In my opinion, the media should be allowed to show anything that they can get away with. It allows society to be more educated, informed, etc.

At the same time it's up to the parents to be teaching their kids the correct difference between right and wrong, as well as filtering out the content that they do not want their children to see. The only problem with this, however, is that not many parents seem to be capable of doing so.

In my opinion it needs to be the opposite. A line needs to be drawn on what to broadcast and what not to. With the media showing more and more dramatic news, we are not far from the day when they will routinely show beheadings and shootings and gory Ogrish videos as part of the the news article.

I find this outcome to be satisfactory. Perhaps we should air more material of this nature.

There should be daily "common sense" tests, to weed out all the idiots.

However, this type of stuff is shown on the news, which for a lot of households is a family television show. The regular news should not contain content so raw that it will corrupt its viewers. If there is a need for the raw news, it should be on another station, on another show that people know is not appropriate for children.

Personally, I don't think seeing that is good for children OR adults, so there shouldn't be a need to see it on television at all.

Parents can choose to watch more censored shows
