Likewise.

...I just really hope, even though it seems unlikely now, that Pure Nation can go on, in some form/name or another.

:stongue: wtf? Umm, Yuris, you and the Russian mob really pulled a fast one. I mean getting paid in free admission & free booze & to hang out backstage @ Purenation for waking up at the crack of dawn to set up was well worth it but that's not exactly raking in the dough illegally & working for Pure.

Garrett, best of luck to you and some of the others.

PS: RJT your inbox is full so I couldn't send you a message. Sorry to hear the news, but no worries, we will reschedule when you are available.

i think we have to stop the speculation and wait until all of the facts are set forth. at this point in time we don't know what kind of evidence exists and i'm sure that when all is said and done there will be some innocent people irreparably hurt due to this investigation.

Alot of us? Who? The notorious troll and one other poster who hardly posts anything here and doesn't even go out to club nights? It's hardly fair to paint us all with the same brush, especially when most of us have been sympathetic to the people associated with Pure and those affected by what has happened. I guess I can understand your defensive response though, considering the circumstances and discussions that have transpired across multiple forums today.

i just heard about this last night. it's a shame. i don't blame them though if they did. 100,000 is quite a bit of cash though, but honestly if i were a big promoter i'd think about skimming a little cash off myself.

yea... ok i get it now... listen its been a messed up few days for us... so yea it was definitely broken

on a side note... many people in the industry have opened their arms to the purefuture employees and cant possible express how grateful we are for that... so despite all our worrying over the generalizations observed in the community on the boards... its good to see that the industry recognizes the difference between the people who were not involved at pure with any wrong doings...

I was wondering how last night was gonna be - Oscar G @ Spybar. I mean, the first "untethered" night.. what if its totally dead?? that would suck... I dunno... I just had some doubts.. uncertainty...

It has to have been the most people I have ever seen Spybar. And, it was the best night I have ever had at Spybar (yeah that is saying a LOT!!!). I was so thrilled. Everything came together - the music, the people, the vibe. It felt like the whole place was basked in some kind of glow.. that just made everything feel "right". I dunno how to explain it. But Oscar G threw down a f'ing SICK set... so many bullet points... ok first of all, any DJ who plays a mix of Enjoy the Silence... oh my god you just dont know the sentimental value that song has for me.. its my fav DM song. Call me a pop fan but its true, that song is like ing GOLD. And it always will be for me. Anyway so he played a mix of it. This was prlly about halfway through. He also played Jungle Brothers - I'll House You - this is one of my fav house tracks ever, just classic Chicago house. There were a couple other tracks such as this too that are slipping my mind. The place was ing off the hook. It was so insane. Everyone knew it. Everyone knew this was the craziest party Spybar has ever seen. I could see it in everyones eyes. Just this look of "HOLY !". The pics really carried through too, so naturally - so effortlessly (this tells me a lot). It was a night. Crazy poses, nipslips, the whole nineyards lol - just some mad partying people - , 2 chicks flashed me... WTF yeah you know its on when that happens lol... The music stopped around 3:55 or whatever.. and everyone is like "play one more song" or whatever.. a few minutes of no tunes... then he throws on "French Kiss"... OMG it was PERFECT. so damn perfect. a mash-up with another classic vocal house track that escapes my mind... what a ing night. Oscar G FTW.

and, of course, you'll see it all in the pix. :P

and oh yeah.. it was the FIRST night I had zero trouble at the door... dunno why but the girl at the door ALWAYS gave me trouble in the past... i had to show id, i had to prove who i was, hell i have had to LEAVE a couple times because she wouldnt let me in. Last night, I didnt have to show her anything at all. She just waved me in. ING MINT! LOL Anyway always nice to start out a night like that. ;p I had even signed up for the Pure RSVP just because I had no idea what would happen at the door..

i don't really understand what they are being charged with...i mean, reading the article, it just seems like they were running a business...whats the difference between what they did and when stores buy products from manufacturers and then sell the items for more, 'making a profit'? I mean, I wouldn't exactly call what Pure did stealing, at least not unless there is more we do not know. Being a law student, that article was entirely inaddequate.

Forgery and tax evasion are two very serious crimes. What sucks the most is that the relationships between clubs and promoters will be strained throughout the entire midwest. Now every promoter's integrity is going to be questioned, and club owner's demands are going to intensify. Believe me, this is more bad than good in the short term. In the long term, we'll see how the Chicago scene will reconduct itself. The city basically has a blank slate right now.
