Crobar NYC will be pulled from Crobar's site. It's no longer a Crobar franchise...now Studio is it's own entity, a new brand. Big things coming up for Studio. The room already looks different.

I'll stick to Chicago if I want to check out a 'Crobar'
Konijn
the two guys who own the crobar franchise had already been marginalized for much of the past two years by the financial backers and managers -- this just makes it official.

can't say i'm digging the new name though...
kadomony
would it still be alright if i called it crobar til my mouth got used to saying "studio"? :stongue:

Well not so much the franchise and branding of Crobar but the people who run the door I don't like. I don't like the fact that the clubs surrounding also get as much attention, so much attention that its become an area to be seen. I'm not a scene-type of person, I don't enjoy big crowds of pretty fake people. I don't enjoy 16yr old girls with excessive make up, backless shirts, and their thongs showing. I don't scream for attention like that and my view on the current situation is thats exactly what that area and the clubs surrounding it are promoting. Thats not NYC, thats not the EDM type of environment that I enjoy and I'm allowed that opinion, even if its to begrudge a specific venue.

I don't want to get into specifics details about my personal experience. Point being, I think it's turned into a place where party people from the surrounding metropolitan area see as 'going out in the city'. I'm not out there to 'not go to crobar' because I believe I'm too good for such a place or think that I don't belong there, I just choose to proactively not support the area and the establishments that are running there. This doesn't mean you should or anyone else should follow, it's just that I have a sour taste left and it's never going to go away. Maybe at my loss in some peoples eyes, but in my eyes i gain by saving every dollar in my bank account that would have gone to a bar tab at those places.

I applaud Bradley for pushing as hard as he does for the duration that he's been working with management there. It's not often do we find a single resident promoter who has consistently provided online communities such as TA with the discounts for such a long time.

Anyways enough of me...I only wish for better things to aspire in these places. ;)

omg do NOT lump arc or twilo into that MESS!!!! :(

well anyway...i HOPE they do not make the dance floor any smaller than it already is...its always a disappointment everytime I go to a newly remodelled club...usual story: newly ***EXPANDED*** VIP areas, less dance floor, dress code

well if it already looks different inside, then i certainly don't mind going ONCE to see how the place looks. altho i will miss the REED room, that at LEAST was different

hopefully great/new talent can be brought into the scene - our eternal hope...
