Sheesh...you guys are making out like I'm some sort of superficial type.
Leave it to the c0re to make a big deal out of what should only be innocent fat bashing. |

[Not that being gay is a choice: holding hands is.] |
Meh, I don't care...let them grimmace all they want. |

what REALLY ING GRINDS MY GEARS is some girls who would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot if they only lost a few pounds. i know some girls who are still good looking even while overweight, and would be soooooooooooooooooooo smokin' if they bothered to take a little care of themselves.
you don't have to be a 98lb runway stick figure, just get rid of that flab. what a waste of good genetics. |

Jennypie, if you're so against obese people you must be against those who do drugs or smoke or drink in excess, right?
Because being obese is equated to having unhealthy behavior which would be the same as those who smoke and/or drink. So IMO if you don't live a healthy life yourself, you can't look down upon obese people.
Not saying this is directed at jennypie (for all I know she could be a very healthy person and therefore this argument wouldn't apply to her at all) but it pisses me off when people who engage themselves in unhealthy behavior look down on fat people. It's just that their unhealthy behavior results in them being physically unattractive. If you're going to look down on fat people at least do it not because of the aesthetics or lack thereof of the person, do it because you feel they should take the initiative and responsibility to become a healthier person and be less of a burden on medical taxes and such. However you cannot say this being someone who engages in unhealthy behavior without being hypocritical. |

thought of this too. if we apply the same logic of jennypie's discourse to the other aspects of modern human behavior, we should be very mad at alcoholics, big drug users, chainsmokers, perhaps even bodybuilders.
kind of puts things into perspective. |

In most people obesity is probably a sign of mental weakness. It could have various labels like depression, anxiety, self-loathing, etc.
I've never been overweight, but I lack self-control in ways that aren't as obvious as obesity, so I don't judge fat people.
Actually I try to be empathetic to everyone, even people who are rude, stupid, arrogant, lazy, mean, etc. Take stupidity for example. I never understood hating someone because they're stupid. I mean, what's the point?
I'm not into sympathy, but I aspire to empathy. I do so for my own benefit because I imagine life would be groovier that way. |

and a lot of people do look down on those people, as well. The difference, though is that there are far more fat people (at least in the US) than big drug users & alcoholics, and, as mentioned, it's something that is visibly evident. Consequently, you are constantly confronted with their obesity, as you would be only if someone is obviously (to everyone...not just people who know what to look for) inebriated 24/7. |

Hatred of the unintelligent is not exactly common. People do sometimes get frustrated with the decisions that leads people to make, but it's not like people just generally hate people for being unintelligent. Most people are quite sympathetic to it.
On the flip-side, though, a lot of more intelligent people do catch a lot of grief for their abilities, because, unlike the reverse scenario, that frustration more often leads to jealousy than sympathy, and, thus, to hatred instead of understanding. |
