dat ees zooo kewl.
let's go mets. both new york teams are looking good to start the season, though i think the mets' pitching staff has many 3s, 4s, and 5s, but no clear ace. yankees did great stockpiling for the future and getting rid of sheffield and randy. unlike most of you mets haters/yankees fans, i don't mind watching yankees games as a mets fan. your hate is misplaced. |

| What're the Mets plans for Milledge? Seems like a crowded OF, but I could easily see him replacing Green due to Green's sucktitude... but is Milledge a RF? |

I would leave Milledge in AAA for a few months to see how he develops. I don't think he's pro-material YET. I still firmly believe they should send David Wright to a youth baseball camp so he can work on his fielding fundamentals.
Red Sox easily had the best off season picking up Matsuzaka and putting Paplebon into the rotation. That's one team I wouldn't one to with (as far as pitching is concerned). |

1- David Wright, lets not forget the one handed bear hand catch he made running away from the infield, or the catch he made when he actually dove into the stands (not like the cheap Jeter running into the stands catch [and i say that as a die-hard yankees fan]).
2- Its quite presumptuous to say the sox made the best pickup on a guy who hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors. And i disagree with moving papelbon into the rotation until they have a closer. As everyone can see, especially mets fans, a bad closer will have more impact than a decent starter (we still don't know how papelbon will be as a starter). 2 years ago the mets had something like 26 blown saves (or maybe not blown saves but lead loses in the late innings).
3- Closing games is much different than starting so we don't know if papelbon will be as dominate. I can guarantee that if he isn't, we'll know who Boston's closer will be. |

weren't they thinking of using halama in that situation? or some other middle of the road scrub? bad move. (and using hansen as middle relief or something) |

I thought they were going to try hansen. But he looked like everytime i saw him. Granted the kid was rushed up, but he definately isn't ready this year.
Halama is on the oriles. Even if he was on the sox his era and whip are way to high for a closer. |

redsox have made some questionable personnel decisions since 2004. the anti-yankees have been trying to copy the way the yankees have built teams and it hasn't worked too well for them.
i'm glad the mets (and the yankees for that matter) didn't go crazy in this overheated free agent market. if a-rod opts out of his contract this year, it's going to be a shopping frenzy next year too |
