You don't need to. It's called being polite and friendly towards them. Doing that will make them enjoy their shopping experience, which will make them want to return. A long chain of events will continue, eventually resulting in an increase in profits based off of your politeness.
/big-business "make more money" bull
I don't know about you, but I find it nice when I have repeat customers who tell me they like shopping at my store because I'm the fastest cashier they've seen, or I'm the friendliest employee and always help them out. It makes me feel good. |

Hes the manager of radio shack. Hes there because he screwed up in life, just like you. There isnt some magical order of the universe that misplaces REALLY TALENTED SMART people like accidently into radioshack. Youre there because of a character defect, which may or may not be as obvious as his, except your spitting in the coffee makes me think hes probably more right than you are and youre just a punk kid whos a ty employee that expects to get paid yet has ZERO interest in preserving the store for which he works. Which means the manager is totally justified in expecting something other than sitting behind the counter chatting on your cell phone.
You sound like the kind of punk ass kid that after I walk out from having dealt with, I call the store manager and ask why youre working there, because you obviously dont care about the business nor the services you provide. |
:stongue: :stongue: :stongue: aah , I love the magical order of the universe! :haha: |

i can't stand slow cashiers, no matter where i am. not that i'm in that much of a hurry all the time, and i keep it to myself (i wont sit there and huff and puff and make it known that i'm annoyed), but i mean, i feel like saying, "does it look like i want to ing chill at the goddamn grocery store all damn night? HURRY THE UP"

the best ones are the big fat black ladies who could give 2 ing s if you have to be somewhere or are in a hurry. in fact, they'll show you just how much they are sensitive to your time by stopping right in the middle of giving you your change back, to turn to the other big fat black lady at the other cashier and be like, "oh hell no, did u see the way so and so just told her to bla bla bla" like literally just sit there and share a laugh right in your face and then look at you like, "oh yea...YOU  here's your change. have a good day"
:stongue:
ahhhh, gotta love em. |

I'm pretty sure most of them work in NY selling cosmetics... I tried the love thing but they really don't like 'for-ein, wotcha soo-pose to be lil' girl?' sales coaches any more than they like customers. |

i actually laughed twice today. but the first time which got me in deep heat was a mistake.
basically, these two guys (they are like 30 years old)come up with their mother and they have like $300 worth of games. One guy is "analyzing" the world of warcraft box and he's like "omg, i can't believe u can get that equipped with that stance. its entirely defensive" and the other guy starts talking about dwarve stances and then goes over a brief history of stance rules througough the WoW patches and whatever. So basically i'm smiling as much as i can without LOL.
They get processed and me and my co-worker bust out laughing when they walk out. Then some guy with:
1. a load of acne
2. a hella red face
walks up the register and i start ringing him up. but all the while, me and my co-worker are trying to be serious but we bust out laughing again. I regain, and then she laughs, then i laugh and that was basically the transaction.
then he wanted to see my manager, Jim, who is rather new and doesn't know that i'm actually a hard working jerk-off.
like, an hour later, the guy comes up to customer service, but no one is at the desk so i go there and help him. i start with "hello, how is it going?" blablablabla then i say "just head to checkout and someone will ring you up."
then i walk to checkout with him and i say "hello, how is it going?" My co-worker (same one from before) thought it was hilarious. i didn't realize i said it again and then i started laughing. and then the customer started laughing. but me and my co-worker were LOL hella hard and then he thought we were being jerk-offs on purpose. but he only talked to my "lead", who in turn, thought it was funny and shared it with the store, word got to Jim, he talked to me, and let me go home :( sadface |
