This is generally how we do it too - we might buy each other small gifts but I find we tend to forgo spending major coin on "stuff" and spend it on things to do together instead. two years ago, we didn't buy christmas gifts, but rather put the money towards renting a cottage in Muskoka for new years. This year, we spent Christmas gift money on a trip to NYC for new years.

i also think that the best thing is just spending time together, no big gifts just funtimes!

yes, granted, valentine's day is quite commercial..

but i'd be lying through my teeth if i said i wasn't a little excited we actually get to spend it together! no gifts though, maybe a card. i love cards.

From what your planning to do ? to what you got or did last valentines day or whenever you last celebrated it ?

Because lot of peaople would like to keep it as a secret what their doing this valentines day i can understand ?
