Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the technics once I got the cash.
As for the mixer, will the Vestex SCV175 do? It looks pretty solid for $329. Or could I get by with a cheaper one.
And could someone please list some good sites to buy vinyl on?
Thank you. |

It's Gemini blowout week on www.123dj.com so there are awesome prices on Gemini stuff.
Do they make good mixers? Would you recommend a model? |

ok i didnt read all the posted <- too lazy...
but there is this general rule i have made...
i of course love dj'ing..
but, dont get any system thats below $499 @ www.123dj.com
you should be smart and just save up for technics mk2's and a good mixer, because even if its a hobby and you dont like doing it anymore, they have a high resell value, whereas everything else, noone will pay up for.. |

dont buy anything gemini, they have a bad reputation of gay TT's and ESPECIALLY mixers, <- knows this cuhz i have one of their mixers, its a peice of ..
if your gonna get TT's if you dont have much money get some good "DIRECT DRIVE" stantons, sr8-60, 80's.. if you have more money then that, then MOST DEFINETLY buy technics mk2's...
mixers = vestax and stanton, both reliable companies.. |

(close to it..)
but what exactly are you looking for in dj skills though
smooth mix with beats matched
what other things do u look for
ne sort of small discrepenceies which might totally ruin your set that a newbie might not know...?

When vestax brought there new top of the range TT out they claimed it would be better then the mighty 1210. It isn't. Bjut if you haven't used 1210's they are a very very good deck. if ur a regular user of 1210's ur only going to be dissapointed!
By the way, this costs more than half the cost of a 1210!!!!
Mainly cos it's DIGITAL

| I gotta big cash lump sum via car crash compensation. Had never mixed before except on the pc with mj studio and mp3'z. Went all out on, 2*Technics SL1210 Mk3'z, Pioneer DJM600, sony MDR700 and loadsa vinyls. Had no problem, although having said that I haven't yet gotta gig anywhere yet so I havn'thad the chance to go e dekz. But I love my setup, often get the neighbours avin' a go cos i boutght 2 300watt speakers and an amp - quite loud. But I lurve it. |
