Basically Trent is leaking songs off the album 1 by 1, he really doesn't need the cash since technically don't touring bands with such a tight schedule like NIN make a lot more money by just touring than their album sales? They've sold out worldwide shows a load of times too, I remember when I went to see em in boston twice both time it sold out in under 2 minutes after going on sale...
But its got to do with the entire album. Im guessing its more on a political stand point, lots of hidden . People are finding pen drives in stalls after shows with leaked new CD quality songs on them with msg's and extra files that basically knit a story together song by song leak by leak.
Its a really neat thing in my opinion, it gets you involved in the work* a lot more and lets you dissect it in ways you couldnt with other albums. |

I don't think anyone would argue against you because participating in a refusal so asinine is demeaning to a person's intelligence. It's sort of like how when a young child says something that is obviously incorrect, you let it slide because it's "cute" or "funny" and you are sure that, given time and an iota of indoctrinated mental process, the child will eventually understand the error of his or her ways all by themselves.
Very rarely is somebody's opinion on music "wrong", but I think you've come pretty damn close. |
