i never use it, its almost like a swear word to me.

but I dont get too wound up in its meaning with everyone. I have friends who say it automatically to girls, and others who rarely say it. To me it is just the extreme form friendship, and I am not one to judge when friendship gets there.

I may have said I love you to more than one girl but I know that for sure I only loved one girl for real.

We broke up back in '99 and to this day I still think about her on a fairly regular basis and despite all the pain she caused me I would get back with her if the opportunity came up.

Was that true love? According to my experience I would say it was and still is because somewhere deep inside I still love her ( even if I haven't spoken to her in maybe 5 years )

"I Love You!"

this is something that is really hard for me to say to others, why?

i have no idea. i mean when people tell me they love me, something always holds me back to say the same thing back.

i'll more readily say I love some sort of food, or movie, or even a statistical technique than say it to a person. its just not in my person descriptor language.

I never say the word, it's a sure way for her to think shes got the upperhand in the relationship.

I told you I wanted dinner on the table when I got home from the pub you daft cow.

I love love :D

Takes a good few months for you to know though, and alot of that time is spent in eachother's company

The biggest misconception about love in today’s society is that when the “honeymoon phase” dies down, the love has died down.

This is true. I personally believe that you cannot know if you really love someone or not until the honeymoon phase is over. Love is when you still want to be with someone even after you know their faults and weaknesses. It is still wanting to be with someone even though you might not even 'like' them at the moment. Love is still wanting that person even though at times they annoy the out of you. You don't have these situations come up in the honeymoon phase so you can't really know.

some people say the honeymoon phase is when you start going out ... others say it's the first seven years ...

what do you all think? :wtf:

It's certainly not a sure-fire way to get into her pants, at least not for me. When I say it, I mean it.

For me, there's realistically only been three girls that I've said and meant it to. The third one still makes me feel a little strange, but in a good way, because when I say it I know I mean it but the circumstances under which we've met and are currently communicating under would make it seem strange to some that I would actually be in love with that person.

Heh, I know exactly (emphasis on exactly) what you mean. Been there.
