i was in puppy love with my first "real" boyfriend. he's actually the person that introduced me to TA haha. he doesn't post anymore, but yeah. i also thought i was in love with paul but it really took me being away from him to realize that it wasn't right. it wasn't real love...it was desperation in many respects.
todd and i just recently started saying it...but it was weird because like a week before he said it to me i had started to think it in my head. he met my parents over the weekend and they got along so well. my dad is usually very quiet and reserved around new people, but in like 10 minutes he and my dad were just chatting away about comic books. authors. movies. etc...all the random stuff they have in common. i like it that he has a lot of the same interests as my dad. people always say you look for the characteristics of your opposite sex parent in your 'ideal mate.' anyway its going well :) it was pretty natural for us. we've been together like 3 months. |

Well theres 2 kinds of love.
Biochemical love(the one we call passion) and that lasts bout 6-18 months. This is when ur still nervous about going on a date with her, this is when u stay by the phone hoping he'll call u. This is when u cant stop thinking about him or her. U eat lots and lots of chocolate, and u'll get the same feeling. Scientific fact.
After that 18 or so months, you're on your own. Trust, respect is what keep couples together. I dont think about my gf everyday anymore.Fact is, I can go 1 whole week without calling her and she wont be mad. However, I do love her and care a lot about her even though that insane spark we had a few months ago has gone. |

something to ponder for those of you who can't even imagine living without that significant other (me included):
i love you because i need you or i need you because i love you.
discuss on a very profound level plzkthx. |

| You shouldn't "need" someone, you should want to be with them not feel the need to be with them. |

| ^ thanx captain obvious. the reality of it is that we live "off" people and don't realize it because we get used to each other's presence. it's not something we'd like to admit, but it happens more often than we think. a lot. |

plus one
it's not healthy to devellop a dependance, and if you break up it just messes you up real bad. |

Well I feel sorry if you're in a relationship like that. |

| i didn't say i was. you'd be stupid to think that it doesn't take serious time and dedication to make the relationship about the other person and make sure you can still be yourself without so much dependence on that person in a selfish way ("what would i ever do without him?"). you can't see what i'm talking about obviously. sorry. |
