Oh, and I am drinking a can of V8 right now. I actually found the low sodium version in cans at my neighbourhood Publix! Yay!

To be honest, I never chew gum for very long, and I try not to chew it at all, so I wouldn’t know.

I have a sensitive stomach due to an ulcer in high school, and chewing gum stimulates stomach acid. Your body thinks you are eating when you chew (no matter what it is) and digestion starts in the mouth when you start chewing, so your brain recognizes this chewing motion and associates it with eating food, which makes your stomach prepare to break the food down…but when it’s gum, there’s no food being swallowed, so you have stomach acid in your tummy with no food.

/health lesson lol
