Macbooks have hardware failure issues too, and far more often than you hear about.

Macs can run XP and PC's can run OSX. Both start fires. So we're basically left with Macs are 'pretty'.

I am going to buy a new laptop in the next month or 2 and I am having an extremely hard time deciding what I want.

I want something pretty powerful so I can play movies on my tv, record audio etc. Does anyone have some suggestions?

So far I've been looking at

ASUS Lamborghini VX1 http://www.canadacomputers.com/inde...127&cid=896.645

MacBook Pro 15ich 2.3GHz
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...nclm=MacBookPro

Dell Inspiron 9400
http://configure.dell.com/dellstore...&OC=94002P_F_1E

I think I am leaning towards the dell. Price wise it is the cheapest bang for my buck and it seems like a pretty solid unit.

OR am I just better off getting a nice desktop and keeping my half decent notebook I have now.

I love my Macbook...but I do miss Windows sometimes...I get a little frustrated when I want/try to do something and I can't cause I don't know how on the mac...

my 9400 hasn't caused any issues. when i upgraded to vista i had to download a few drivers fo rthe volumne controls and touchpad. very fast and one thing i got that i know would pay off later is the complete care warrenty....anything happens and dell will replace it. as soon as my keyboard gets dirty enough i'm going to call for a replacement and get a new clean one. :p:D
