When (if ever) I decide to get a lappy and find myself stuck between Sony and Dell.

These 2 are so far on opposite ends of the spectrum I have no idea how one could even directly compare them. Dell Inspirons are garbage. If anything, get a Latitude, those are half decent.

Actually, both brands are crap. Sony just carries a higher price tag.

I've used many laptops in my lifetime, and the one brand which has proven its worth, is IBM/Lenovo. That's why I'm a proud owner of a Thinkpad T60.

My gad... how can you compare a modern handheld with one that's 5 years old? No it's better, captain obvious.

TBH I don't even want the Vista upgrade. I'm just getting it b/c I'm eventually have to going to use it. I'm gonna stick with XP as long as I can.

Jamie...I think you should go with Sony, scrap the Dell idea.

Agreed. When I saw the laptop I wanted it was $1700 I think. I didn't need it right away though so I waited until it came down. I got it at just under $1300 tax in.
