Can anyone list which states actually have an 18 age-to-drink law and which have a 21.
Cos I was under the impression it was all 21, but apparently quite a few states have the 18 drinking age.
Anyone? |

21 is everywhere in the US. Every single state.
This law was enacted in 1984. Louisiana was the last state that changed from 18 to 21. Now, all the states in the US have the age limit of 21. |

Man that's tragic.
A load of 16/17/18 year olds should stage a massive, drunken protest.
That'll teach em :D
How old do you have to be to join the US Army? |

You have to be 18 to join the army...it's also therefore 18 that you can be drafted, sent to war and die. You can also purchase a gun, go out on your own, and did I mention get sent to war and die, but you can't buy a ing beer!:whip:
I was in Germany like a month ago and the people my age (around 16) are very responsible about drinking. Do you think that if the drinking age in America was lowered to 16 that people would eventually become responsible (I'm sure there would be real problems for a couple of years). I personally think that American teenagers are not very responsible and that it wouldn't work even though it would be nice. |

Well it's 18 here, which means most people start clubbing at about 15/16, with limited success getting in places. Everyone is out by 17, with good success. And once you're 18 you've got your ID so it's not a big deal.
I wouldn't say it's really a problem though. When you're 15 most people survive on house-parties, but the more ambitous ones try to get into clubs. I started clubbing when I was just turned 16, which is about average I'd say.
I don't get those 18th birthday cards you see which say stuff like "enjoy your first legal drink". That's crap, cos you can drink from 5 yrs old onwards, so long as it's in your own home, so everyone has drank alcohol legally then anyway.
In Britain it's 16 to join the Army, 17 to join the reserves. You don't get any of the privileges like running over minefields and getting your knackers shot off until you're 18 though. |

actually it was Wyoming, and they should have kept that cause then people would actually go there...
but yeah- its everywhere. doesnt make much sense tho i have the added benefit of going to Canada to drink(sarcastic whoopie)! you can generally get booze tho, alt its easier to get drugs here than booze, which isnt really what the politicians are actually going for i think.
we can vote, drive, and go to war - but not drink! yes/ |

why doesnt Toronto move closer to Detroit. there wouldnt be any competition, youd just replace Windsor(like Detroit but with less trash) and there would be cool things to do...shucks/ |

umm:
VOTE? - which gives _YOU_ the possibility of putting the world into ruins (you know that america is the most powerful nation in the world.. tons of nukes)
but no, there is no drinking..
though everybody will tell ya: Just get a fake-id..
what they fail to realize is that getting a fake-id is pretty much the same as printing falscified money.. In my mind, that is a LOT worse than drinking underage.. then again, I am from Germany...
Oh well, I think america has some of the most retarded laws, but there is nothing i can do about it (not a citizen..):whip: |
