With a little more perspective you'd realize that every day could be your last no matter what your age ;)

lol, yes I'm quite well aware of that. Back in September, I was hit by a car at 65km/h here in Waterloo. By all accounts, I should be dead.

But you know what I mean...Life is an odds game and the older you get, the more apparent the inevitability of death becomes and the harder it is to ignore. At least when you're young you can shrug if off, either correctly or incorrectly...

Sorry if it was already mentioned, but after reading a few of the replies from people talking about having a "mid-life crisis" in their mid-twenties, I wanted to recommend a book;

It's called Quarterlife crisis: The Unique Challenges of Life in Your Twenties, by: Alexandra Robbins

Not award winning material, but worth the read.

And no, I'm not afraid of getting older.

i'm afraid of the day when my body starts to break down but my mind is still sound. ALS is one of the scariest diseases i can think of for that reason. i see alot of my grandparents (86 and 82) and they are still wonderfully clever and witty, but i notice now that their bodies are starting to fail them. my grandma has bad arthritis and is losing her hearing and my grandpas vision isn't that great. i lost my other grandma 2 months ago at 96 but her quality of life was pretty much down to zero, and i wouldn't be able to deal with that. when i started to get to that point, i'd be all for physician assisted suicide.

that being said, there are still so many great things i'd love to see and would appreciate as i got older. my family, my career, the perspective, just the ability to look back and say that i experienced as much as i could. just because you get older doesn't mean you have to lose your passion for living and hopefully you always keep your childish enthusiasm.

Everyone think about the future suppose we make it to like our 80s, we would be the ones that have lots of tiny lil gadgets around us on our beds ,LOL listening to todays house and trance tunes which will be than called classic house & trance tunes on our tiny lil ear pieces and travelling short distances on....

When i think of the future my brain starts hurting :( but wutever its life you have to live it regardless.

The way many have looked at the state of being "old" is taking a very nearsighted approach. Compare the difference in being old in the 50's to now. Now look ahead 50-60 years from now. None of us have ANY idea what old will be. Mentally, physically, emotionally, or any other state.

Be negative about getting old, and you simply live a life of looking at the glass half empty. Try drinking from a full glass...much less bitter taste. ;)

agree 100%

50 years ago in 1957 the only means of entertainment would be like if tv or radio or stage shows.

Now its 2007 and fukk if i list all the means of entertainment we have now you guys will get tired of scrolling down. So i personally think we have a very fun retirement waiting a head of us.

Think what world would be like in 2057 or 2067 or if you push it like max 2087 fukkk im thinking star wars like aircrafts flying arounds like birds today.
