that would be "supersize me" and that is the movie that made me question my eating habits. i didn't change because of the movie but it made me think about what other effects other than just a physical health risk. didn't realize it had mental health risks either.

I also haven't had a drop of alcohol in almost 2 years. I'm as clean as can be! I actually get sick if I eat a doughnut or a cinnabun or anything heavily processed. I hold it down for maybe 2 hours before I puke it all up. Just the sight of a taco from Jack in the Box makes my spit all thick and my stomach turn.

Its a movie that kinda shows what happens at the meat packing plants where cattle is processed into the patties, sold to Fast Food Corporations.

Fast operating "lines" cause too many mistakes during the process, ie. intestinal fluids from the cattle are spilled over the meats...

basically, we're eating cow !

thats one example, not to mention the way they treat there employees...

watch the dvd... its really good, especially the special features

since we on the topic of healthy eating... it's pretty hard to avoid genetically modified foods since they dominate our grocery stores in this country, but people should be aware that these gmos are not engineered with your health in mind. corporate farm crops, which make up most of what we see at the grocer today, are genetically altered with animal, human, bacterial, antibacterial and viral genes to make them insect resistant and pesticide tolerant. some of these genes actually cause the fruit/veggie to naturally produce insecticides themselves. the fda doesn't require genetically altered foods be labelled and so far there has been no independent research into the potential risks of human consumption because of assurances by the companies who sell them to congress. in places like canada, japan, mexico and europe where studies have been done, these foods have been banned. this includes dairy, beef and poultry products as well. american dairy cows are injected with antibiotics and hormones that release insulin-like polypeptides in dairy milk that create a risk of prostate/breast/colon cancer in people. the moral of the story is to buy your produce locally at farmer's markets and when you have to, buy gmo-free certified dairy and meats. *some* of these gmos might be completely safe, but until we know for sure, i'd try and err on the side of caution.

All studies involving RBGH are bogus or vague. How do they expect us to believe that injecting steroids into a cow has ABSOLUTELY NO SIDE EFFECTS. Whats more, they slap a label on the milk saying that their one-sided studies can find no difference between a cow treated with RBGH and a cow not treated with RBGH.

Next time you are at the grocery store take a look at the expiration date on the gallon of "normal" milk and then take a look at the expiration date on a gallon of organic milk from a cow not treated with RBGH. The organic milk is good for almost 3 weeks longer than the RBGH treated milk. You may as well be drinking benzene.

I've noticed this, but not with organic milk from Trader Joe's. Has the same expiration date. I've always wondered why...
