I hate when people change their lifestyle based on a movie....

oh wait wrong thread :toothless

dude don't worry....fast food has always been this way, America just does an amazing job at covering up things. Especially, when it is potential sale, gah this country is one large bubble!

fast food is disgusting. not only that it's a total drain on your life force when you eat it regularly. i speak from experience and enlightenment!

that said i will occassionally indulge on certain fast foods... like fried chicken or in-n-out.

Oh, how I miss my quesadillas con carne asada.
I am definitely getting one the next time I am at Circus.

I love in-n-out also, especially the one in Baldwin Park (home of the first in-n-out, fyi).

i actually only eat fast food cuz its cheap and well, fast. even then itd run up a credit card bill after a while.

or maybe i should stop being a broke ass and invest in buying healthier food so i can live longer. yea sounds like a better idea

same. when i quit eating fast food i felt better in general. it took about a week but after it was great. now i do as you do but del taco once in a while instead of fried chicken.

i also cut out soda. i still have it but its seldom. once every few months.

I was on a serious fast food kick for a while and it ended up reaching the point where every meal I had was from Jack in the Box, Taco Bell or McDonalds. It was gross, and most certainly not healthy.

On December 16th I called fast food quits for two months. My body didn't like it, it wasn't used to eating healthy. At the beginning of January it had finally had enough and shutdown. I lost my entire appetite. One day, I had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch which kept me full until the same time the following day. At that point I was starving, so I cooked myself the most delicious looking plate of nachos you could imagine. Oh my God, it looked so good. I took one bite of a chip, swallowed it, and felt so full that I was going to puke.

Over the course of two weeks I dropped fifteen pounds. My body has re-adjusted and I can eat a full meal now. Needless to say my two month goal rolled around and I've extended it to a full year.

idoru i went through a similar period a few years ago when first living on my own... i had jitb, mcd, pizza hut, taco bell and all kinds of taquerias all located within a block or two of my place, some were even 24hr. the amount of dioxins and arsenic put in fast food meats is obscene. they put arsenic in chicken feed to make their breasts grow extra large. these are bioaccumulative carcinogens! then there's transfats and preservatives in all the breads and fryers. your body is literally exhausting itself trying to neutralize all these toxins with the negligible amount of nutrients they provide you. and then there's msg: the drug that's used to trick your brain into thinking something you're eating actually tastes good when it really doesn't. over time all these chemicals alter your brain chemistry and physiology. you become anemic and intolerant of real foods. once i stopped eating fast food regularly, my energy level returned, by mood improved dramatically and my sleep and appetite returned to normal.

ps: soft drinks are also horrible for you, especially worse for women.

I haven't had a drop of soda in over 3 years. The only "fast food" I ever eat is In'n'out and that is like maybe once every 2-3 months. I honestly haven't eaten at McDonalds in 4 or 5 years. Just the thought of McDonalds makes me want to vomit.
