Generally, TA as a whole doesn't support the promotion of individuals or artists who don't really add anything else to the content of the site or forums. Del didn't create the site with the intent to provide free advertising, and in general it seems as though it's allowed to continue on a very subjective basis.
It's not anything new - and it makes sense to me.
Edit: And oddly enough, I think Bobby, Myra, and I had this very discussion on Saturday night. |

And we were discussing just this past weekend how nice it is that guys like the AMP crew, Cery, Haider, and Geo89-54233845879234 (or whatever) actually take the time to post on the forums pretty regularly.
It's cool to have promoters who are actually involved in the community who support their events  |

Yes, as Rob pointed out it has nothing to do with the event posted, rather the manner in which the poster chooses to participate within the forum. Granted, the OP of this thread makes odd posts here and there but they are basically all to bump a thread or event in which he/she holds a personal promotional interest.

Ive been a member since 2002...
& lately i dont reply & so cool with the TA Click.. whoopi.. but one thing I do..
is I contribute alot to the scene.. from club promotions & events.. I put my heart out & money to make sure the events turn out good.. street promo.. myspace.. emails,, etc..etc..
you think TA is the only thing contributing to the scene..
only 4 members are the biggest critics.
It takes alot of work & planning.. & i dont only promote M Project & M.U.I.
does are my guys.. I just help out. but i do & did alot of others..
from WET nightclub.. with Steve Murano & Dj Doc, Filo & Peri 1st time in chicago at WET! not Vision, Mark Norman & Cor Finjeman, 4 Strings, Dj Diamond, HeavyGrinder.
Vision with ERNESTO vs BASTIAN 'Dark Side of The Moon'
House of Blues with Hatiras, Starkillers, Steve Smooth & JJ Flores.
Plus, I put alot of energy on NYE with ATB. & I am still waiting on my $$$

So, Yeah.. I see alot of other b.s. promos. But, this is TRANCE ADDICT site for TRANCE HEADS!! to find events, talk about them.. & See were the TRANCE SCENE is at..
Maybe you might like it.. But other TA members that come to check oout evetns.. & not write. .

Way to completely miss the point
No one said posting on TA was the only way to contribute to the scene, only that posting events/promoting on here is a privilege, not a right.
And why is it I never see you discussing any events other than your own? Why is it I never see you in music discussion, discussing trance? What about CD reviews and New release discussion, finding out and discussing the new records you're digging?
The fact of the matter is that you don't. No one is discounting you, or the footwork you've done in and for the scene in Chicago - all we're saying is that means absolute bupkus here, and that Trance Addict doesn't exist solely for you to promote on it.
Now do you understand?
