The word I got, at least, is the 2-CD special edition is a regular+ a mixed version + a bonus CD with 8 more tracks. The deal is, they have only made 2,000 presses of this special edition version, and in order to get one, you must buy it as a bundle with a ticket to see PVD in Central Park, at his show in August.

(New York, NY) – Made Event, Paul van Dyk and Mute announced details today of a special edition of van Dyk's new original artist album IN BETWEEN. This limited two thousand (2000) unit run of the release will include a mixed version of the full album, an 8 track bonus CD (see tracklisting below) and an 8 page photo anthology. In addition, the CD package also will feature a free download voucher from www.vonyc.com for a worldwide exclusive Central Park remix of the anthem "New York City."
Attendees of the 5th Anniversary celebration of Paul van Dyk in Central Park will have the opportunity to pre-purchase special CD + ticket packages at http://www.madeevent.com/pvdcp07.php while supplies last. Reserved CDs will only be available for pick-up at will call. Paul van Dyk t-shirts and tour memorabilia will also be available for sale at the VONYC merchandise area.
Regular ticketing for Paul van Dyk in Central Park is available for $40 dollars per ticket for the Friday, August 17th concert and $45 dollars per ticket for the Saturday, August 18th concert. A special Double-Pak for the discounted price of $80 dollars for both shows is also available. CD + ticket packages are available for both single day tickets and 2 day combo for an additional $15 per ticket.

So basically, in order to get the special CD package deal, you have to be able to get to New York around August 17th or 18th, to pick it up in person (you have to be present at the show to get it)

A bit unfair imo. What about the folk who can't afford to travel or don't live in the US huh?
On the other hand, they released the 2 disc Reflections commercially later after releasing it as a single album. Maybe they'll do the same for this, as to when or if, is anyone's guess. |

it actually isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'll just mention tracks that I like upon first listen:

In Between (semi meh-ish)
and Sabotage could do some floor damage, I'd like to see some remixes of it though. I thought Another Sunday was mashed up with the accapella of Probspot - Blows My Mind on his Global Gathering set, but apparently it wasn't since it's still sampled on the album.
In any case, five tracks I like outta 17 is way more than I thought I was going to like. There's some absolute gash on there as well, but we almost all expected that. I was pleasantly surprised by this. |
