So, just don't smoke inside! I mean I am guilty of it too but having to pay them bastards more money just enjoy good music with good friends! |

haha i don't smoke so i could give a sh*t about this. but yeah exactly, don't smoke inside. so i guess if they kick ppl out for good cuz they were caught smoking, ppl can't say then right? lol
I still don't agree with what the bouncers did though. |

they do usually ask you to put the cigarette out first, before doing anything though. It *is* ILLEGAL to smoke indoors anywhere in NYC. ppl in the VIP area WERE smoking a bit openly hrhrhr

They should have been told to put the cigarette out or there should be signs posted that if ure caught smoking, ure gettin kicked out. Its shady to go up to these ppl and ask for money. WTF, as if makin $300 a nite to stand in a corner for 6-8 hrs isn't enough money ?? Seriously, crobar had the same thing also with the smoking, its totally been done away with. But not really cause ppl will still light up and the bouncers dont do anything about it. Personally, the smoking law should have only been in effect at restaurants and bars but became imposed on clubs as well. Either way, scamming clubbers out of money is shady. :whip: :whip: |

They could have just tossed them out. I don't think its a big deal. If you want to smoke, go outside to the smoking area. Thats what its for. |

i think they do usually give 1st or 2nd warning, so i guess if they 'kick' u out afterwards then its deserved. true ppl will do it anyway but that doesnt' mean its right. if its illegal, assume u may get kicked out cuz of it. do something, accept the consequences. lol but i guess everyone is used to being babied
i think smoking is gross anyway and it gets blown in my face constantly. blah.
yeah there is a smoking area and they could have just done away with it. shruggs. personally, better outdoor than indoor, im not even sure how smokers BREATHE while in those enclosed spaces. go outside if u need it THAT BADLY. lol. the freezing cold would never stop an addict from having to do what they gotta do, right? lol j/p but just saying. |

| I almost got thrown out of the club several months ago because I was drinking beer while spinning in the basement (I'm 20 years old). I got pulled outside and yelled at by the management, and of course, I'm the wrong one here (technically), but you also have to take into account that I know a million 16-20 year old girls that get in whenever they want and drink from the bottles of the same management that blasted me (and then some), so ever since then, I've had a horrible taste in my mouth with that club and its management. I wrote about it in Club Planet once, the next day, I got a call from someone that works (who I know well) there saying everyone at Pacha read my thread and that I would pretty much be barred from the club forever. Some random screen name on Club Planet popped up and started hating on my DJ career, saying I will never play there ever ever again, and making personal attacks at me, I am 100% sure it was Pacha staff. |

They didn't even ask them to put it out. they came over grabbed them by the arm and said come with me. then they said you either pay us 20 dollars each or get out! I totally agree in the fact that there is a smoking area and some people don't want to breath the cig smoke. I love to go outside cool down and smoke. But, it's not only for smoking they are doing this. I mean they were doing it to people who havn't even done anything wrong. One guy had to pay because they said he look like a drug dealer. I mean they didn't even search him they just said give me 50 dollars. He didn't have any drugs on him either. It just because he LOOKED like a drug dealer! |

I agree. This never happened to me at Pacha although I did see tons of people smoking on the low when I was there.
I've been caught smoking inside at Spirit, Crobar, Roseland Ballroom, even Avalon.
All of them just came up to me with the flashlight and asked me to put it out or go into the smoking area (if the had one). The guy at Roseland was even letting people take a few more pulls before putting it out.
Yea its illegal to smoke inside, but its just as illegal to bribe a smoker. |

If ppl got thrown out for doing something illegal, then the place would have been empty before AVB even came on. :rolleyes: This wasn't about stopping ppl from doing something illegal, it was about bouncers being on a power trip because they knew they could get away with it. |
