Friend saw it, says it was ridiculously disgusting. I still wanna see it though, I enjoyed the first one, sadly.

the first one was not only disgusting, but an insult to any human being w/ some kind of intelligence. WE GET IT! PEOPLE WERE DEFORMED! STOP BEATING IT TO DEATH!!! ugh! oh, and there was absolutely no point at all showing the mutant freak ing raping that chick while the other sucked her boobs. no point. it was just plain ing sick....there wasn't even anything to think about. i mean, the Exoricst [comments below] made you THINK about what was going on. was she possessed? was she not? pills? what the hell was the mother going through? was it the devil? or was she messed up in the head?

like that made you think throughout the entire movie...even at the point where she's "masturbating" w/ the crucifix. it was such a horrible scene, but it was done 1) as tactfully as something like that can be done; and 2) emphasized the point that this little innocent girl was not messed up in the head, she waspossessed.

the rape scene in the hills have eyes was nothing more than sick smut that was borderline digusting porn/snuff.

like mentioned above, the reason why i like this movie so much is because of the way it gets in your head and makes you THINK about things. it doesn't just shock for the sake of shock.

this movie was the original pioneer of making people uncomfortable in the theatres and not because of the disturbing images shown on screen, but the disturbing thoughts your mind was thinking about.

after leaving the theatre of the hills have eyes, i was so upset because i couldn't get that image out of my mind of that sick ing rape scene. i couldn't even remember a good portion of the movie except for the they beat into your head.

after leaving the theatre of the exorcist [when it was re-released back when i was in high school...although i felt the same way after watching it at home first], i couldn't help but think about the entire movie....not just one disturbing scene. in fact it was so intriquing, that i then read the book [which, btw, is :nervous:...at one point i threw the book because it freaked me out].

yeah, that's my story. i just don't think anything nowadays comes anywhere close to the exorcist. and any attempt is extrememly horrible.

I liked Saw I, Blair Witch, and the first The Ring. mainly because i felt like the characters were extrememly well-depthed and i could get into the psychological aspects of the movies. and the special affects of the Ring were minimal and so it wasn't all CGI or aniimated like so much it these days.

most other movies i like were more of the parent genre, drama, rather than a subsidiary of horror.

Funny thing is Exorcist still scares the out of me.

It was on last year during halloween on AMC when they have that special that aires with a load of horror flicks and it still scared me -less.

Blair Witch

i find it :( when people say they didn't like Blair Witch because it was "aimed to be a commercial hit. those $ fags!" I thought it was very cool, very suspenseful and added a layer of voyeurism that was like "omg, am i really going to watch kids get killed?!", since the outcome is outlined in the beginning of the films "they disappeared, this is their last video tape"
The sequels were a piece of mother ing , those were $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ horror films.

This is pretty much a rip-off of Blair Witch, but i think it looks like a BADASS rip-off! yeah, slaughter those kids!
(an alien chip found in russia(?) is decrypted by a scientist and uncovers a video log of abducted human beings and the experiments conducted on them)

blair witch is a subpar rip off of "Cannibal Holocaust" which was released back in 1980 by Ruggero Deodato. when it was premiered the director was arrested and the film seized because they thought it was an actual snuff film. saw it a while back and almost lost the contents of my stomach several times watchin it. if you're a big fan of horror try and find a copy to watch

i've seen cannibal holocaust. I found out it had strong political parallels in WikiP, and i know it has strong significance in censorship/distribution rulings around the world. But i just didn't find it terribly frightening considering their voyeur experience was in some distant planet (south america) and cannibals don't terribly frighten me.
I felt more uneasy through Blair Witch because it was in "your VERY OWN BACKYARD. MUAHAHAHAH DIEEEEE" with established hikers who were experiencing very weird unexplained anomalies which built suspense, as far as a horror film goes.

It's not like Hills Have Eyes 2 where trained military servicemen with machine guns FOR SOME REASON get killed by mutant/zombies 1 by 1. When you watch a normal family escape from these zombies in Hills Have Eyes, it makes me that these ngas can't.
there has to be some kind of theory for Uncanny Valley that parallels to the horror genre. something like "wow scary! wow gorey, awesome! wow gorey, lame!" and continues into oblivion

PS, note to A&E, The Last Samurai ing sucks dick

Blair Witch even though a rip-off was the dumbest ever made aside from JackAss.
