Point is, he doesn't bring it for WMC like he SHOULD...for god sake its WMC & the prices are outta hand.

I just dont think he does it for me anymore...I'd go see him OUT of Miami but it's not the old PvD I loved.
He still plays the same tracks over & over and I am tired of that plus it's a HASSLE to see him because of how packed/expenive things are.

I just see more cons than pros but that's just me.

That's fine.

But we don't need another DA on the boards bashing his ONCE fav dj ;)

You weren't there. I wasn't there.

I haven't lost hope in him yet and I am dying for mother fuking Summerstage

BYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

edit- oh and according to some review not all the dj's brought it this wmc

I'm nothing like DA I speak on what I have seen from PvD throughout the years...even seeing the T/L to the parties I didn't go to didn't impress me all the much.

He's gotten like Tiësto got after winning number one, maybe not as bad but everyone all of a sudden jumped the PvD bangwagon.

Mel you & I both know that he's had much better sets then he's played during the past year...I'm not even completely giving up on him but to be honest after seeing SvD I was completely wowed that a DJ could make me feel like PvD once did'

SvD played on Saturday like PvD once played all high energy & non stop...not ONE bad track

even if PvD has his great set, it gets ruined by a couple of those old/played out tracks.

He just isn't the BEST anymore
consistancy has to do with every single party you do...and he isn't being consistent if you ask me.

Either way I have a reason to talk especially since I saw a DJ that played no classics or stupid tracks.

I want to move forward in music not back.

edit- to be honest this isn't only me thinking this way about PvD, there are people who've seen PvD since 01 saying he's lost it & isn't the same...people who've seen him in his PRIME...I'm talking about WAY better than the last 2 years combined.

If old school fans say it, it's for a reason.

I agree about the PvD reworks and is one of the main reasons I see him any chance I get. I can spin at my house if I want to hear anything else.

Like I said in my review and what Swamper said, he really did bring it the first two hours.

About him always playing all of his old tracks. Last month in NYC he played Another Way, Stormy Skies, and Complicated. That was it, out of a 6.75 hour set, I think that was amaizing.

No one can doubt the talent that he has,its just that he doesnt bring the same energy that he brings other places when he is so popular in Miami. He should bring the hard fast paced trance that caves in the roof not a classic night on WMC.I mean for WMC the poeple are going to be the most informed poeple on EDM that you will find!!Why not show them your tricks rather than you old pony show??Right??
Dream Beamz
I agree and he actually used to bring it in Miami moreso than anywhere else. Back in the 02 - Early 2004 days he tore it up in comparison to his nights at the Docks in toronto, Amnesia Ibiza and even beat the Roxy shows in NY.

IMO Paul lost alot of his Energy for every where he plays using Ableton, he is getting much much better with it now but it will take time. Ableton has more ability than playing with Serato or Final Scratch but it also takes some of the fun out of it, even for the crowd.

Enough said.

I bash on him for a reason...a damn good reason. Spirits and Space WMC '06. He just blurted out that monotonous energy-lacking crap at Spirits and brought a way-less-than-standard set at Space for WMC, which IMO is the Super Bowl of all EDM, at least in this country. That Space set was more of a letdown than the Spirits one for certain reasons I will not state at this time.

PvD 1998-2005: Always #1 for me. Nothing...NOTHING will ever change that.

2006-present: Rank 1 #1 for me.

That is all.

at least you got the memories and they ended with pvd @ space nov 5th 2005 :)

Ya, the docks was Tiesto. As i herd.....

but maybe PVD spun there too.
Dream Beamz
My bad, it was the Guv. I think I was wishing paul would have played at the docks

chanman7483
Got there around 2:30,3 and pvd was tearing the place up. I don't know exactly what songs he played, but he really had a lot of energy, and the crowd was reacting to it and enjoying themselves... really loved the LED panels and the sound system was great. Agreed though, that his usage of the horn was a little excessive at times, but whatever.

Combine that w/ Sander k's set and i give the night a 9/10, only b/c of the 30 minute wait to get onto the terrace around 6... i think.
LiquidX
Man, Paul @ the Terrace was the best set Ive seen out of him.. Hard fast paced trance with twisted techno in between.. He's set at Ultra was good enough, but If I were to compare it to other Ultra sets, it was the one I liked least. ( And Ive been to Ultra 7 times now. )
