Lets just say Edgar V as always brought it out pretty good for PvD to start. PvD came in like a different PvD than in his past shows. He started off so good that I thought it would be just like his last time he was there. Boy I was wrong after at some point I got soooooooooo bored I yawned for close than 2 hours. Evertyhing was so weird about this time he came with some much energy, but everything and his music as well was off. He was using the horn at the wrong time and alot, the sirens were off just like some ty tunes he played. I literally waited for like 2 hours for Torrent. When he did, right after the set calmed again
I am utterly disappointed at this WMC, from the SvD show, to the disaster at the Subliminal Party to last night at Space, I was so tired to catch bored I didnt have energy nor any desire after PvD to catch Sander K. LAst night I saw Jet Li, Jackie Chang, Lui Kang. I felt like crobar New York. He actually played 4 hrs which is something different, ended the set with Filo & Peri - The Anthem.
Set OF the Night GOes to Mr. V!!!!!
That tune that must be a Higher State Of Consciousness Remix is awsome!!!! |

Actually it wasnt his set, it was that sound system. It was horrible. It made everything seem less fun. The speakers must have been from 1997.... |

May wanna clarify that next time. And everyone I've talked to about SvD all said the same thing: he rocked it.

You must be having a really bad WMC to say SVD sucked, because I do not think so, everyone from househeads to tranceheads have said he was great to incredible to a life-altering experience. Subliminal it rained, big deal it's WMC, and don't you like your chicks wet?
As for the PF Changs crowd, agreed 100%. But I have no issues with that population and they are supporting trance big time, so who cares.
As for the night let me first say the rumors of Space's disorgnaization, mob scenes at the door, long waits, etc were all BS. Got there @ 12 and got right in. The door was very smooth with no mob scenes at all, which probably had something to do with the 2 fire marshals at the door. The club was not packed at all at that time, by 12:30 the crowd had almost doubled and by 1 it was packed enough that I got worried. (although thank God it never got unbearable).
Edgar V's opening set was pretty good, a lot of chunky house. Proper Education and Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness (sick remix for sure I agree) stand out. He played good drinking music until 2, I took advantage, and then PVD took over.
PVD played for 4 hours, and I would say the set was not up to the standards of his November mainroom and June terrace sets. But to say he was horrible is crazy. I would say it was good, just not mind-numbing or anything like the last 2 times when he relentlessly mind-ed everyone.
Luckily I partied my ass off and had a great time anyways, and nothing about the set hindered that one bit. He did play more house than I wanted to hear, using a lot of hard house for fillers as opposed to the hard trance/tech trance I prefer he use 100% of the time, but I guess that comes with the 4 hour set. I would say it was 80% trance, 20% house, no biggie there. PVD did have a load of energy in the booth, I have never seen him so animated, jumping around doing hobit skips and so much I thought he was Ferry Corsten for a second there. If only he could have channeled more of that energy into buidling up his set maybe it would have been better.
Overall a good night and good sets by both DJs, yet nothing mindblowing IMO. |

I cannot review him because I only caught a little bit of his set (30 minutes or so) b4 exhaustion hit. But he was playing really good, and I heard from very reliable sources that he stole the show @ Ultra last night. |

edgar v was awesome from 11 - 1am . when paul got on he was great for the first two hours and then I myself will have to say he sucked for most of the remaining two hours. the 10 mins i heard from Oscar G was blechhhhhhhh
I was on the terrace from 6:15 to 10:30 and it was fantastic. Very little humidity, and just the right temp. Sander K was throwing down the most flawless techy house set. I left at 10:30 as I was done for the night
more detailed review later, i had to drive back to charlotte for an emergency |
