^^^ yes well... research before use is always best. I couldn't stress that more, to young ppl who are thinkin' about trying stuff out for the first time. 'course, pics like the one above are seriously extreme cases. over 80% of all drug users and abusers quit on their own will after they've had enough. |
Unfortunately, thats the problem with addiction. Nobody ever knows when its enough. :wtf: |

The Meth Project is the largest advertiser in Montana, reaching 70-90% of teens three times a week. This is saturation-level advertising.
The research-based messaging campaign—which graphically portrays the ravages of Meth use through television, radio, billboards, and Internet ads—has gained nationwide attention for its uncompromising approach and demonstrated impact. The campaign's core message, "Not Even Once," speaks directly to the highly addictive nature of Meth.
watch the tv ads people!!!!!! they are really provoking and effective. |

Right now, meth use is reaching an all time high in this country. There was even a special on A&E about this girl, pretty blonde girl, who basically isolated herself from ppl who loved her and wanted to help her. All she would do is meth all day long. Did anybody see that special ?? |

i think what you're talking about is the show Intervention... it showed the girl named "Kristy" who was working as a stripped and lived in some dumpy house that her dad let her have. If this is what you're talking about... that was seriously one of the most entertaining shows I've seen in a while, so entertaining in fact, I showed it to 3 of my friends and watched it a total of 4 times. That girl was ED up! |

If you are talking about Intervention, I LOVE that show. There have been MANY blonde meth heads tho, so I am not sure if thats the right one I am thinking of. The one with the heroin user was freaky. :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

im actually glad there is a report out there showing that alcohol is potentially more dangerous than other substances. then again it could also be #5 because of its accessibility to the masses, and the fact that more alcholic-related incidents are reported/available for research.
the fact that alcoholism is a disease that could be passed onto the next generation (not to mention it can cause problems in developing fetuses) gives it enough reason for it to be up so high on the list. |

i fully understand the issues surrounding alcohol. i believe that if we were to compare percentages of addicts we would find that the percentage of alcoholics might not be as high as say the percentage of addicts in other categories of drugs. i'm not arguing that there are less alcoholics; if we were looking at raw numbers there is no doubt that there are more alcoholics than say crack heads, but the number of those who drink and aren't addicts surpasses that of those ingesting other substances.
in regards to fetuses pretty much everything affects them. |
