i remember when we went up to Toronto for Labour of Love back in 2004, and was surprised when ppl were asking more for meth and not candy. at the time i just remember being like :conf:
not to say that there is predominantly a problem in that scene. call me naive but that was the very first time i actually realized that ppl were using that stuff.
then again prior to late 2002 i was totally straight, not in the clubbing scene, and things/situations like this just did not cross my path ever with me or my friends. Issues like illegal substances etc. were only issues discussed on TV and in the media which I had no real exposure to. and if you only rely on the media, the BIGGEST problem wtih regard to illegal substances (on network TV anyway) is cannabis. :rolleyes: |

the research was done in the UK. Not sure if Meth is a problem in the UK. |

People in the UK use speed quite a bit (same thing). I guess it involves cultural issues as well as education, considering it doesn't seem like it's much of a "problem" as it is here. |

when I went to Together as One last month I could SMELL the meth pipe smell every where.....and I stepped on a bag on meth ont he floor....I was def not pickin that up and keeping it!! |

of course you wouldn't.
then again (curious) how could ppl bring a pipe into an event? wouldn't security find it?

I dont think TAO security was very harsh because I also saw 50 million blunts being smoked....which, yes, is easier to HIDE, but there were so many people smoking out in the open that I dont think they really cared. I think they understood that it was a rave or something and were LAX on getting peopel in trouble. i dunno. |

thats what i was about to say. I have seen people on every drug on that list in the first post and nothing, and i mean nothing, is scarier than someone high on PCP ---- NOTHING!!!
And how come no mention of "ICE"?....probally cus no ones uses it anymore...but in the early 90s that was killing people after one hit...lol no joke either....it was like a super crack mixed with heroin (i think). |

the aforementioned drugs like PCP probably didn't make the list b/c almost no one does them anymore, as such there probably wouldn't be enough cases of death etc related to those drugs to land them on the list. |
