The movie was a spectacle. The story line is amazing

It was called the battle of Thermopylae and Frank Miller made the novel out of it.

Who here had heard of this crazy ass tale before the movie trailers started appearing?

i had, knew it well already

When xerxes was threatening that no one will remember him, we get a striking thought...a graphic novelist 2400 years later turned it into a worldwide event.

The whole thing was done on a stage, and it was acted out like a play. Much like Scorcese's flick, Gangs of New York, it was supposed to be dramatic and hyped up and filled with speeches.

if its supposed to be dramatic, it really needed more of a plot. sure, i get that these guys are fighting for honor and , but there was absolutely no emotion attached to it. they should've done something like actually show in depth how they were defending their homeland. they made it look like these are just awesome bloodthirsty dudes and we're supposed to root for them etc

If they seemed long, remember these speeches were written along with painstakingly hand drawn frames for the novel.

If anyone has seen Berserk, youll realize the Manga was much more impressive than the movie. Its the nature of the medium. A life's work vs a directors project for a few years.

It was intense in color, sound, visuals, and historical accuracy. Xerxes tent conveyed the occult nature very well and his gay hands on Leonidas' shoulders was supposed to be gay and really uncomfortable.

It seems to me making the claim that its a ty movie because its loud is like hating a rock concert for the same reason.

Its supposed to be?

i'm making the claim that its a ty movie because its lacking all of the things that make a movie good. like a plot. and interesting, dynamic characters. historical accuracy is great and all, and so is being visually appealling, but if you want those two, make a documentary with reenactments
trying to make it into a feature length movie with a compelling and personal storyline just came across as a complete failure to me

I just liked all the fighting.

I thought it was good. Not all movies need elaborate plots. They just need to be entertaining, and this one did the job well. I liked that it wasn't trying to be all epic and overdramatic all the time. Sure it had it's cheesy moments, and maybe a little too many slow-motion action scenes, but otherwise it delivered.

The main reason I haven't seen this film yet is coz I've done a little classics, and while I respect artistic licence, when a plot is supposed to represent an actual real life event, it should at least try and be accurate.

The story of Leonidas and the 300 is one of histories best, but the more I hear bout this movie, the less I want to see it.

Well you saw the movie after ytmnd ripped it to ing pieces, so you were watching it thinking "hmm, I wonder how I can pick this apart to make it even funnier on the internet..." and you just sorta didn't let yourself enjoy it.

But yeah, it wasn't great or anything. :P

Good movie. ty film.

a prime example of a blue screen movie... you cant expect much when its all shot in a studio. however i must admit the animation was better then i expected. sex scene well if your going to put a sex scene in there better be some ing snatch or else you'll see some tiny ass tittys and sweaty man.

during the sex scene, people were laughing.

with my screenwriting skills, i would've turned that scene into a better one! tasteful but not lame.
