yeah but that was when he thought he would score a number one pop hit with "love on the run" :P

he probably switched labels again this year because "stoned in love" didnt impress anyone either.

so there actually is hope out there, that he goes back to what he does best.

It probably wont be anything like trance

Well hopefully he won't this up, Chicane is one of my favorite producers.

I don't understand why 'Love On The Run' is criticised so much? Sure it's doesn't compare to his other two main albums, but it's not awful, and a million times better than 'Stoned In Love'.

I keep discovering new things about his tracks by listening to them, and just simply how wonderuflly produced they are.

Like everyone else, I'm hoping a return to the Chicane of '97!

That's very true. Although I've always thought of 'Love On The Run' as an attempt by Chicane to emulate the sound (and the commercial success) of 'Another Chance' by Roger Sanchez.

Me too but somehow it just seems very, very unlikely...

I'm usually not the one to cry "X has gone commercial", but I'm afraid for Chicane this is very much the truth. Just look at how "Stoned in love" tried to recreate the Dance/Pop-Crossover of Jones' "Sexbomb" or even Chicane's own "Dont Give Up".

This guy will compromise his unique musical identity just in order to have a shot at a bigger mainstream audience.

Thank God "Love On The Run" failed miserably in the charts and so did "Stoned In Love" and so will probably the rest of his current album.

Maybe he will learn and then the next album can be a return to his roots.
