Anyone can jump up and down, but few can spin a good set, that's what it comes down to.

Who cares about the music? I go to a party to see the DJ perform like an actor, not a DJ. Ears are overrated.

I totally agree, look at the Sasha/Steve Lawler party last year, everyone keeps mentioning it, Sasha had no crowd interaction, he just stared at the crowd and smoked.

Eh. When a DJ gets to a certain level of popularity, they can spin a ty set and do all in terms of crowd interaction and people will still come to see them. (Oakey anyone?)

i like when DJs look like they mean business behind the desks as they spin :D

... and when they can smoke cigarettes so cooly for 3 straight hours non-stop (literally no joke) with it like never leaving their mouths as they spin then entire night!

THANK YOU D.A.V.E. THE DRUMMER AT WEMF 06 !!!! lol

A big reason why I didn't enjoy Tijs @ Docks.

which is why you go an' get someone like Dekoze to spin your party ;) Bounce bounce bounce to the rhythm.

It's great to see a DJ that's into it and energetic about the music, even if s/he's not conducting the crowd like Offer Nissim... and if the music sucks, I don't care if the DJ's into it or not, I'm gonna leave, so it's not really that much of a question. I can't dance to someone else's enthusiasm.

TUNES. it is about the tunes. if the dj doesnt have much crowd interaction i am really not worried about it as long as he or she is delivering a choon fest. crowd interaction just makes it much more better.

100%

It's also about the presence the dj brings with his music.
Stefan, if you liked Donald Glaude... wait til you see John 00 Fleming! Now that man puts on a SHOW! He doesn't go nuts on stage.. but the presence he brings with him is amazing! Even if he's just standing there waving back and forth.. you just can't keep your eyes off the guy.

I love crowd interaction from a dj the music has something to do with it . I don't think i would have a great time say if Armin walked up to the booth threw in a mix cd and sat there and read the news paper. Interaction with the crowd makes them more hyped makes the music alot better and shows the dj cares about his or her fans.

Euphorica
Idealy both are good
but if you are looking for one, it should definately be the music.
duhhhh
Plump Funk
I go out to listen to the music, look at the crowd and enjoy the vibe. the dj falls into the first part.
